In this great post at Kotaku we get a terrific, body-positive, sex-positive and nonjudgmental tour of the most popular tool for Fallout 4 Skyrim and PC gamers to re-style their characters to include nudity. The video explains ‘Caliente’s Beautiful Bodies Edition,’ a Skyrim mod “that gives players more control over the customization of female characters” which has been expanded to Fallout. Kotaku asks Caliente why it’s just for female bodies (others started doing male bodies first, and did them well), and also includes a tidbit about the fact that Fallout focused its body rendering on the male characters, and the the female rendering isn’t as well done, suggesting that Bethesda treated the female bodies as a sort of afterthought. Also — pun intended — dicks are hard (to mod).
The accompanying article Inside The NSFW World of Fallout and Skyrim Nudity Mods is fantastic, and has lots more info. I especially appreciated learning this:
(…) Some promise “lore-friendly” titillation, so they’ll provide, ultra-sexy characters caked in dust, grime, and displaying visible injuries. Hey, just because you’re an ultimate fantasy bombshell doesn’t mean you’re impervious to the hazards of the wasteland. Or something like that.
Several modders I spoke to cited the importance of alterations that don’t take the player out of the moment. Ubercharge, the creator of the body mod in the picture above, put it to me this way: “If you look how dirty/dusty/rough [the] environment of Fallout 4 [is], suddenly [CBBE bodies look out of place]. Perfect bodies will break you out of the immersion. There is no use for nice bodies if your brain doesn’t believe it’s real.” …
All I have to say is…. GIMME MODS NOW. I wish this wasn’t just for PC. I play Fallout 4 on PS4, and I’d have so much fun with this mod. I’d make Outpost Zimonja a nudist camp. I’d make Abernathy Farm a porn studio (a really boring one where no one has sex). And yes, I’d occasionally have my character out on missions sekritly naked in her Power Armor, in addition to wearing nothing but my daily-wear armor and a trilby hat for when I need to become Lady Justice with a shotgun and rain holy tit-punching hell on a bunch of Raiders who think it’s funny to keep calling me “that little bitch.” Also, a couture mod would be nice. And a mod to make my wonderful dog (Dogmeat) into a leopard or tiger (Catmeat). OR A PONY GODDAMN IT.
Though, I have discovered I can upskirt myself pretty well in the Grognak costume, so I guess I’ve got that going for me.
Anyway, this is a great video for its information, insight, maturity about nudity, art and self-expression. And because it doesn’t pretend to give you a post about nudity and then not show you what they’re actually talking about. Thank you, Kotaku — bravo for treating us all like adults.

The Fahey/Klein Gallery is a legendary, global cornerstone in the world of of 20th Century and Contemporary Fine Art Photography (established 1975 — before art galleries specialized in photography). Its program has included erotic art nude, fine art, and countercultural legends such as Helmut Newton, Man Ray, Herb Ritts, Ellen Von Unwerth, Allen Ginsberg, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Robert Mapplethorpe, Irving Penn, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jan Saudek, Mary Ellen Mark, Ansel Adams, Joel-Peter Witkin, William Klein, and many, many more. I find it intersting to think that none of these important historical figures (many of whom are heroes to me) would be allowed to exhibit their work on Facebook, in Apple’s iTunes, or similar places.
Here’s Sigourney Weaver by Helmut Newton in 1983, in the Fahey/Klein Gallery collection:
Online art nude and culture magazine Treats! snagged a lucky interview with the founder, David Fahey — by his son, Nick Fahey. It’s a really interesting interview, and it was cool to find out which photographers are his favorites for nudes, as well as this cool gem:
Nick Fahey: How has the approach of nude photography changed in the past 50 years?
David Fahey: The “nude” has always been somewhat controversial from the beginning. Eroticism played an important part in early photography. Today, nudity in photography continues to be erotic, but also can be a social comment on our current times. Nudity became more accepted in the 1960’s, and today it is less of a big deal. We can now enjoy a nude photograph for the sheer beauty of light on the body, as well as appreciate new perspectives in presenting the human form.

“In “giantess” chatrooms fans role-play shrinking and growing. The giants might flirt with the “tinies” by describing scenarios in which they pick them up or wield a foot over their heads. There are also forums for swapping Photoshopped images that bring these fantasies to life. In a thread on the website Giantess City, a user shared a mockup of Ariana Grande looming over a green, suburban landscape. (In response, someone wrote, “more like Ariana Venti, am I right?”) In another, a doctored image shows a naked woman lowering herself onto a large, phallic building. It is all wonderfully imaginative, playful and fun (although it does sometimes broadly overlap with more controversial fantasy realms, like vore porn, which depicts make-believe cannibalism).”

“”I have been doing plastic surgery for 15 years, and I think there is a lot more focus on the vagina, how it looks, because of the overwhelming popularity of Brazilian waxing,” says Giese. “There has been a real change in the aesthetic of the vagina, more focus, and women are taking a lot more of the hair off. I see naked women all the time during liposuction, tummy tucks, so I see the change in grooming. It’s not just a change in the younger population—it’s in the mature population as well.””

“Mr. Kalin is the 24-year-old founder of a group called Party With Consent — a slogan displayed in neon behind him (and on T-shirts he would later hand out). On this Saturday, he had traveled from Providence, R.I., where he worked at the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University, to Hartford to speak to Trinity students about the importance of understanding what has become a campus buzzword of late: consent. The lecture, which he would give four times on this day, to four different groups of students, was part of a sexual assault curriculum that Trinity College freshmen were required to complete (and had their attendance recorded to ensure it).”

“For years, CES shared the Las Vegas Convention Center with the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE). But when AEE decided to reschedule its show in 2012, the biggest tech show on Earth lost its adult edge. That is until this year. “What followed was what lawyers for Nicole Eramo, an associate dean at U-Va., described in new court documents as an elaborate scheme to win Duffin over by creating a fake suitor, Monahan, to spark romantic interest — a practice known as “catfishing” — that morphed into a sensational claim of gang rape at a U-Va. fraternity that Jackie said was instigated by the fictitious upperclassman, and finally a Rolling Stone story that rocked the U-Va. campus and shocked the nation.”

“Since the first case was reported in 1958, there’s been around 100 confirmed cases of semen allergy in women, though recent studies show it may be far more common that previously thought. Understandably, women are hesitant to come forward lest they’re sent off with a fistful of antibiotics and a patronizing smile. Laura’s experience was precisely that: “My GP did his best to keep the smirk off his face, gently pressing STI leaflets into my hand. I shoved a peer reviewed medical paper back into his, and eventually got a referral. And an apology.””

“It was back in 2006 that I wrote my first retrospective post which means that this is the 10th time I’ve looked back at porn for women over the year. In that decade, “porn for women” has become something of an old-fashioned term, replaced by the labels feminist porn, ethical porn, queer porn, new wave porn. A lot has changed – the industry, those making porn and the internet itself. In any case, here’s another look at what’s happened in the world of female-focused erotic content.”

The FBI uses search warrants to collect whole databases of user contact information from adult social media sites, so that it can broadcast a large volume of entrapment emails just to see who bites? Yes, apparently that’s now a thing.”

With his team, Haworth developed the [sex work safety] NUM app based on the charity’s body of knowledge and feedback from sex workers themeslves. Spreading alerts as quickly as possible is a vital part of the app’s offering. As Haworth tells me, the need for it is aptly demonstrated by the case of Thomas Hall, who attacked four sex workers in the course of a single evening in Manchester in 2013. This feature was also inspired by location-based dating apps like Tinder and Grindr. “We wanted to use the same location technology for a very different end,” Haworth tells me.

I recently made a few great discoveries, and I have treats and taboos for you below… First up is a new site from our friends at Nubile Porn, who are on the ethical porn list — and this time, they’re making porn of a very edgy taboo: StepSiblings Caught. It’s also a taboo that is an extremely popular topic right now in romance and erotica: The so-called “stepbrother” scenario. Interestingly, this (primarily female-authored) genre is selling extremely well, and to romance readers, a primarily female readership.
Like I say in my book Fetish Sex, an interest in seeing taboo or impossible sexual situations in no way indicates past, current, or future trauma or wrongdoing. These taboo fantasies are just that — fantasies, and there they will remain in the realm of imagination or in the safety of fantasy play with someone you absolutely trust. Just because we get turned on by a taboo idea or scenario, we do not wish it would really happen, on any level.
Next we have Shhh, a porn site belonging on all ethical porn lists that caters to a female audience — which means the porn focuses on the female experience, and both performers (sometimes real-life couples) are seen in a whole, and wholly erotic, light.
I’m really excited about the next discovery: Wasteland is an ethical kink and BDSM porn site that is perfect for people who like a lot of things about Kink.com… but could do without some things about Kink.com — notably, without the extreme pain and degradation common to Kink scenarios. That said, this isn’t BDSM lite; it’s real play with real people, real orgasms, and explicit sex.
A random hot find: Jasper Stone’s Bisexual Adventure (still in pre-order; I’ll keep an eye out for any online viewing options).
OMG: Watch this trailer, watch this trailer, watch the trailer for One Erection.
A few pretty quickies to finish the post:

“The most hilarious awkward sex scene of the year comes courtesy of director Judd Apatow, writer/star Amy Schumer, and an unlikely third party: John Cena, the WWE hardbody with a heart of gold. In Trainwreck, Cena plays Schumer’s chiseled, hung, and closeted boyfriend who’s great at pumping iron and awful at talking dirty. And really, the mere sight of Cena’s hilariously sculpted physique on top of a spread-eagle Schumer is enough to elicit belly laughs.”

Note: this terrific, indispensable list is comprised of nonfiction, with a focus on books about sex work. Yay! “2015 was a big year for sex-positive publishing from the printed press. New alt sex publisher ThreeL Media hit the ground running to explore sexuality with intellectualism and heart. Sex education saw creativity and excellence, and academia gained a whole new syllabus of books on porn scholarship. Here’s a few books that either dive head-first into sex work and sexuality, or include enough of the subject to stand out as excellent additions to your sexuality bookshelf.”
The Best Sex Books of 2015 (Coming Out Like A Porn Star)
“Although the science of sex might seem like a trifling field of study, given how much of the plant and animal kingdom is dependent on sexual reproduction to pass on genes, studying sex is the same as studying life itself. These are some of the most interesting stories to investigate the science of sex published in the last year.”
The Sexiest Stories of 2015 (Discovery)
“… so many of 2015’s films avoided the conventional. Instead they offered up love scenes that felt authentic, non-judgmental, and vulnerable — moments that simultaneously exist within themselves and reveal much about the people involved. They may not all be “hot” in the traditional I’m-going-to-bookmark-this-for-later sense, but there’s something admirable in their attempt to veer away from what’ve we come to expect of portrayals of sex in film.”
These 2015 Sex Scenes Changed TF Out of Sex in Movies (Complex)
“2015 will go down in history as the year when love won. But there were lots of other extraordinary advancements in the world of sex and relationships. Here, my list of 13 highlights, which includes the year’s sexiest movies, the best TED Talk on relationships, and the pop culture icons who are revolutionizing the way we think about sexual identity.”
Breathless: The Year in Sex (Vogue)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s only a sex scandal if you’re scandalized about sex. “2015 was a roller-coaster year in the political arena, not only of gridlock, but also of sex scandals. While there is certainly a notoriety for all, which prevented some from remaining in office, at least one person was able to run a successful reelection bid. Here’s a breakdown of some of this year’s biggest political sex scandals.”

This was the year of Caitlyn Jenner and Bill Cosby, of the Ashley Madison hacking scandal and the movie of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” In some ways, American culture loosened up sexually, but it wasn’t all good news.

Dominic Ford, Huccio, Kink, Marc Dorcel, Naughty America and Utherverse’s new HoloFilm Productions, all jumped into the VR production scene in 2015 — while websites such as MetaverseXXX.com, ViRP.io, VirtualRealPorn.com and VRSexperience.com, started showcasing this new form of adult video. Other VR porn highlights from 2015 include the integration of VR with haptic devices and teledildonics, plus live cams, bringing sex toys into the digital age — or perhaps that should now be “the virtual age.”
2015: A VR Porn Snapshot (XBIZ)
For someone new to porn, this makes a lot of sense. The truth is, the types were already there. What happened in 2015, finally, was visibility. “This year brought more types of porn, more feminist options, and more ways to watch it. We basically started looking into the porn of the future, and it looked pretty awesome. So here are six ways porn changed in 2015 …”
Here’s How Porn Changed In 2015 (Bustle)
Note: Vibrating panties were most definitely not introduced to the world last year. Why do people still not research sex when they write about it? Although this year saw the House and Senate voting to defund Planned Parenthood while slut-shaming, street harassment and sexual assault continued ad nauseam, it only made the sex-positive pioneers out there work even harder to fight the stigma against female sexuality and pleasure.
7 Awesome Sex Tech Innovations From 2015 (Bustle)
Yay! This article features Sex is a Funny Word by Cory Silverberg and Fiona Smyth: “The year’s best kids book has a surprising amount to teach adults too, as Silverberg tours through all the questions about sex and gender kids could have, while Smyth’s bright and funky illustrations give it all vibrant life. After a year of vicious debates about sex-ed in schools, here’s the book that definitively proves its worth in belonging on every school library shelf.”
The year’s best non-fiction queer books (Daily Xtra)
“Each year I spend time collecting names and stories of people who passed away whose lives were spent, in part, trying to make the world a slightly better place. Because those of us whose work focuses on sexuality and gender rarely get the kind of public attention that other kinds of education, art, and activism get, I focus my attention on this area.”

New porn site called SciFi Dreamgirls just came across my radar, and it’s really fun — especially if you like the human robot/gynoid/fembot fantasy. It’s all about fembots! And it’s explicit porn, which is really nice (as opposed to softcore fetish role play sites). I found the site through my friends at ethical porn sites Sssh (for women) and Wasteland (BDSM). This’ll really freak out the anti-sex-robot campaign weirdoes…

It’s never too late for a little Holiday Kink ($2.89, $2.99)! This 7-story anthology features a handful of my favorite erotica writers, and the stories alternate with holiday cocktail recipes, as well as sex tips I selected especially for holiday sex predicaments.
Seven stories crafted by accomplished authors — Holiday Kink is one collection of smart, explicit erotica to pervert the usual circumstances of cheesy cheer into unforgettable erotic escapes. These dirty little quickies are perfect for sharing.
The office’s reluctant ‘nice girl’ gets volunteered to recruit a holiday party Santa… and she ends up over the security team lead’s lap.
A boyfriend comes home late on Christmas Eve, only to find his girlfriend dressed as a cheesy elf-slut, fast asleep after gorging on the sex toys he left wrapped under the tree…
Public sex, rough dominance, chance encounters, mean girls with strap-ons, oral service, and very explicit sex deck the halls of this seven-story holiday collection.
I hope you love it! You can get Holiday Kink at my Digita Publications store or find Holiday Kink on Amazon. This 7-shot is the second book in my new series after I teamed up with other former Cleis Press authors to make our own indie erotic books, on our terms, sharing profits, and to stop getting swindled by greedy publishers (ahem). The first book, Filthy Housewives, was our first strike in taking back our power, our art (and our profits!) after Cleis sold its entire back catalog of our work without telling us.
This collection of twisted holiday erotica from skilled authors delivers much more than sexy stories with seasonal decorations on top. Instead, these stories twist the holiday trappings for sexual impact, and cast our yearly traditions into arousing set pieces. Each story is a kinky escape, and each chapter alternates with recipes for holiday aphrodisiac drinks and sex tips for holiday frolic.
This book contains adult situations, including spankings, domestic discipline, backdoor play, bisexual men and women, and explicit scenes. The book also depicts dominant sexual relationships, kinky sex toys and BDSM practices.

To tempt you into tasting a little Holiday Kink, I’ve included the introduction below.
INTRODUCTION: A KEEPSAKE
By Violet Blue
Holiday erotica, as a genre, has historically been a mixed bag. Every year, a few publishers take a stab at putting out a volume of explicit erotic fiction. And every year, they sell a few copies, and while the publishers squeeze a few extra holiday sales out of it, the rest of us authors and editors and readers end up with a product that reflects exactly that: something whose last priority was our enjoyment.
I have to image that they know it’s a gamble. For starters, holidays and sex don’t mix as a concept for a number of people, so an erotic anthology by nature is an arrow only destined for a limited style of target. The publishers will often put their best editors on the task, usually with names known to draw their own legion of fans — and end up cranking out what often amounts to a psychosexual identity crisis that stretches from pre-holiday shopping to New Year’s Day.
You won’t find that here.
He stood and came toward me. To my surprise, he shut his office door and flipped the lock. We were standing so close together, closer than we ever had been before. I noticed that his eyes were not truly blue, but a blue gray, almost steel.
“What’s on your list this year?” he asked, taking me by surprise. “It’s a! it’s a secret, Santa.” My voice was barely a whisper. “You can tell me.”

Part of my brain said, “No, no, you can’t.” But my pussy said, Yes, yes, you can. I hate when my pussy talks.“It’s a…!” I started again, uselessly.
“Secret. You said that. But how can I give you what you deserve if you don’t confess your desires first.”
Had he just said deserve? And confess? And desires? My knees felt weak.
—”It’s A Secret, Santa”
The mass-market erotic holiday anthologies usually have great writers and hot sex, and fantasy scenarios that give us readers ideas well past the holidays. But as a whole, the collections often end up too long and packed with near-miss filler. Or stories get tossed in that, for me at least, go too far into cliché without irony, or travel too deep into the seasonal anxieties we’re trying to escape from.
It’s not far from the conflict in visual porn’s struggle to try and stay relevant and engage with its viewers over the season. The depths of Christmas (and Hanukkah) cheesiness that porn sinks to is usually such a turn-off that it negates the effects of the very porn it’s trying to sell. It’s usually not cute, it’s not hot, and it ends up looking gross and stupid. Porn already sucks badly enough. Dressing it up in elf ears, green and red stripy socks, or a stripper Santa suit without a hint toward the inherent silliness of such a thing just makes it so the mixed bag of Christmas and erotica leaves us far more weary than interested.
I think the makers of holiday erotica and porn know all this, and I think that’s why they don’t make erotic books and imagery that speak to the facts of why we’re here, why we’re looking at seasonal erotica.
To really reach us, it takes time, and care. And getting into our heads.
My cheeks flushed. “You wouldn’t do that here.”
I’d say, ‘Just watch me,’ except that’s going to be an impossibility.” He ushered me into the largest stall at the end of the row. The bathroom was pristine. The tiles tiny and white, the doors polished. That’s what you got at a high-end finance firm. No graffiti. Nothing cracked or marred.
Nick had taken me into bathrooms before—from one in Paris that was merely a hole in the ground, to one at a five-star hotel with mirrors on all the walls. But this was the most exciting—because of where we were. At his office, during the office’s huge Christmas party, in the public ladies’ room, where anyone could catch us. Any woman that is.
He was going to fuck me quietly, I thought, so nobody would know.
But then he started to undo the buckle on his belt, and I had second thoughts. No, he wouldn’t. No, he couldn’t. No, he —
was.He was telling me to brace my hands on the wall as he lifted my poufy skirt in the back.
—”Mandatory Fun”
When we pick up a book of holiday-themed erotica, we want to spend time in worlds right next to ours, worlds that feel and experience holidays in a deviously naughty parallel universe. One where no one’s faking it for the camera, and no story or scene feels like a token gesture.
Where we might actually get ideas about making the season a time to reconnect in intimate ways.
Where that fantasy we have about someone who turns us on breathes to life on the page in front of us.
Especially at a time of year when we so dearly can use an escape that feels good, and one that treats us as adults, with respect. An escape vehicle that invites us along as a co-conspirator to make the holidays into something more, something arousing in our secret inner worlds. An escape worth making, and hopefully worth sharing.
I know this little book is a one-time-of-the-year confection, and that’s how it’s designed. This isn’t some publisher’s one-shot to try and squeeze a few extra dollars out of the sales cycle before the end of the year, nor is it a bunch of the usual suspect porn tropes, but just with Santa hats on.
Or if there is a Santa hat, it’s donned with a flourish of pervy irony, as when smart people do very silly things for hot sex.
“You got yourself good and wet, though, didn’t you?”
“All ready for Santa,” you say with a husky exigency.
The second that saucy line is out of your mouth, I’m back on you, the heavy belt rising and falling rapidly as you writhe in my lap. Little cries of dismay erupt from your green-glossed lips as you clutch at my thighs and rub your breasts against my steadily hardening cock. I redden your bottom until it contrasts festively with the green garters and the green lace tops of your stockings. Then I reach down and pick up the new vibrator from where it lays on the floor.
“Show Santa how you got yourself in trouble,” I growl, seizing your hand and wrapping it around the vibrator’s handle.
—”A Very Naughty Elf”
This is a treat for myself and the authors who patiently worked with me, to create a little escape we’d want to read to our lovers and partners. And to remind us just what hot, smart erotica looks like when you give it an assignment: show me those hot fantasies I know can happen just outside the veil of this reality, but close enough to mine I that can enjoy some holiday turn-ons.
It’s also a keepsake, with my own flirty holiday drink recipes, and sex tips especially suited for this strange time of year.
I hope you enjoy Holiday Kink. And make no mistake; these are very kinky stories, packed with spankings and power play, very explicit sex and joyful couples with a penchant for pleasurable pain. I convinced some really gifted authors to work on this project, and I know they hope you really — really — enjoy it, too.

Right now in various locations around SF, you can find free copies of glossy local gay club guide, Left. The cover (original photo above) was great enough for me to bring a copy home and track down both the art and the artist featured on the cover, discovering a new magazine I really like in the process.
That artist is Paul Oberle, whose sexy nude Leia is unnamed in the original photo. His entire Star Wars themed set is here. He previously featured it with even more photos on his blog, DC Discombobulated, in a post titled Star Wars: Macros and Models.
On a side note, I really wish Flickr would fix their photo view. It makes great photos look too tiny and unforgivably unflattering. But Flickr’s users really don’t matter, do we? My account is almost a decade old (12,215 photos, 9,934,844 views) yet the last contact I had from Flickr was a non-contestable warning that I would have my account deleted without notice at its discretion — all because I linked to Tiny Nibbles in my bio. Now that links and website content are starting to be considered the arena of free speech protections … I think policies like this are looking as dated as they are problematic for companies like Yahoo (who really doesn’t need more of either category).

I’ve written about this film many times over the years, and a recent email from someone trying to track it down reminded me just how great The Operation (1993, 12:50 minutes) still is. It’s a sexually explicit sci-fi style scene shot entirely in infrared, and the effects of body heat and cooling fluids are riveting. And uncomfortably sexy. Amazingly, The Operation was shot in 48 hours on a shoestring budget. It was an underground cult film upon release, and I think it has become an incredibly important piece of art. From the film’s blurb:
In a cold tile operating room, a surgeon clad in a protective Ty-Vek suit, goggles and tight rubber gloves demonstrates her skill before a group of observers. They scrutinize the eerie coupling between the surgeon and patient, whose bodies merge like molten lava. Thermal coitus draws the viewer into an erotic experience that probes beneath the boundary of skin.
The Operation was conceived, shot, and performed by artists Jacob Pander (aka Otto Wrek ) and Marne Lucas (aka Gina Velour). From their Incident Energy project bio:
Merging their interests in surveillance technology, they recently created a multi-channel video installation filmed with heat-sensitive Thermal Imaging (IR) systems. By illuminating the actual heat of nature, culture, and the body by tracking the glowing heat/energy signatures of objects and people at terrestrial temperatures, they provide a new way of perceiving the Self.
Two years ago they released their trailer for Incident Energy, a conceptual art installation and show that brought us more bodies beautifully, hauntingly shot in IR.
At the top of this post is The Operation’s trailer, which Lucas uploaded to Vimeo four years ago, and she commented that they were trying to get the film re-released on DVD in 2013. If you want to see more of it, I found a copy of it here.

More and more mainstream media outlets are writing about ethical porn: What it means, and who is making it. And that’s a really, really great thing. Finally! But while these articles are a breath of fresh air, it still bugs me that these articles don’t actually show you what they’re talking about. And ‘fair trade’ porn look so very different than the rest.
This post is based on a recent article that’s been making heavy rotation on social sharing sites, How To Find Ethical Porn (adequateman.deadspin.com). Below, I take the article’s recommendations of ethical porn, and then I actually show you what this porn looks like. Then, I introduce you to a few more ethical porn sites — ones I feel the article was seriously remiss to leave out. I wanted you to actually see what this porn looks like.
From the article:
* Alyx Fox, Suzie Spindrift – God Save Queening
* Lorelei Lee, Beretta James, more – Crash Pad’s Guide to Fisting
* Jiz Lee, Kay Garnellen, Wolf Hudson, Mor Vital – BIODILDO 2.0
* Dyan Ryan’s directing debut, Tooth and Nail
Erika Lust (Heterosexual focus.)
* Room 33 directed by Erika Lust
* Amarna Miller and Maximilian Gambero – Do You Find My Feet Suckable?
* Amarna Miller and Kristopher Kudjoe – Manuel del Placer
* Erika Lust: Five Hot Stories
Bright Desire (Heterosexual focus.)
* Mickey Mod, Siouxsie Q – Yes, Sir
* Lucie and Ryan – Tease
* Jade and Tommy – Just Married
* Pandora Blake, D. – Instructed
* Summer Knight, Adria – Taste
Make Love Not Porn — image above is a screencap; sorry, no freebies or samples on the site. (Heterosexual focus.)
O’Actually — this media startup featured in the Deadspin article is crowdfunding to create original film projects … So please, also allow me to suggest that you donate to the astonishing film projects of Four Chambered Heart (Four Chambers). Four Chambers is one of the ways ethical indie porn looks in the Internet era. This is not ‘mainstream’ porn, it is not part of the porn industry, and it is important –- and not alone. This is part of the actual, wider world of porn; it is ignored by both the mainstream porn industry and anti-porn pundits alike. And Four Chambers is awesome.
Here’s who should be on all lists of ethical porn sites. This is not a complete list, but these are sites that MUST be included in the ethical porn conversation. I must also note that ethical porn is made by people of all genders.
Anna Span’s Diary I seriously don’t know how or why Anna Span is left off these lists — she’s a pioneer and fought to forge the path for ethical, female-made porn in the UK. Female U.K. porn filmmaker Anna Span’s fun site. (Heterosexual focus.)
Candice Royalle / Femme Productions Candace is no longer with us, but what she did — carving a space for women’s porn, and our voices, in mainstream adult — has changed us forever. New York based female director Royalle has a whole huge catalog of women-directed porn films that have something for everyone on offer. She also has an excellent, highly-recommended line of ergonomic vibrators. (Heterosexual focus.)
Cosplay Deviants This site is by the people, for the people, and we really need more like this. It’s a fun, refreshing indie site that features amateurs who take cosplay seriously and want to cross the line into sexualizing their play for an audience who’s tired of seeing their desires depicted as yet another freaky thing porn sites try to sell. It’s real, hot, and respectful.
Dorcel Club If high-end, moneyed, exquisite, filthy French porn sounds like your cup of tea, prepare to have your mind blown. Not woman-run, though this does not preclude that this site showcases real female pleasure, features diversity that’s hard to find in domestic porn, is a feast of real, sexy bodies, and treats everyone with respect and dignity. Marc Dorcel has created an incredible porn site that’s best described as Eyes Wide Shut with the masks off. I love this site. (Heterosexual focus.)
Frolic Me I can’t even begin to count the ways I love this new site — yet another one that needs to be on every ethical porn list. It’s a gorgeous, very hot woman-run site of films, stories and more —- with really sexy performers —- all of which makes me wish there were more like this. (Heterosexual focus.)
Girls Out West I can’t recommend this women-run adult site highly enough. These women have been at the forefront of ethical porn — in Australia — seemingly forever. Very high quality, lots of super-hot couplings (hetero and girl-girl), they make it seem like Australia is full of gorgeous men and women, and that sex with an Aussie is fun, fun, fun. Their site is easy to use and they prize privacy. Superb!
I Feel Myself This indie porn network was one of the earliest original sites to specifically, intentionally make ethical porn, by and for the people who perform in it. Their porn also managed to be insanely hot and beautiful, while retaining a stable of distinctly non-porn performers. The same women who run I Shot Myself have this tasteful, sexy and really fabulous Aussie amateur site: I know women and men who know where to find free porn but pay for this site, and this site alone. High quality and tasteful, with regular free content. They also do really cool things like Feck:Art’s 2015 Erotic Art Competition.
Joanna Angel/Burning Angel Director, performer, leader, fighter; Ms. Angel has become a force to reckon with, coming from mainstream, commercial porn to running her site, where she directs and produces a pipeline of porn that’s diverse, fun, nasty, respectful, and real. (Heterosexual focus.)
* Joanna Angel, Jessica Creepshow, Seth Gamble – Jessica’s First Time (gallery)
* Kleio Valentien, Derrick Pierce – Ronda Arouse Me (gallery)
* Sydnee Vicious, Joanna Angel, Seth Gamble, Bill Bailey – Sydnee’s First Time (gallery)
* Brianna Rose, Xander Corvus – BDSM (photos)
JoyBear This British porn site was focused on ethics and chemistry out of the gate, and it’s upsetting to see them caught in the UK’s anti-porn targeting. They had a very well-received launch in the press, as a sophisticated porn site for couples who like their romance mixed with raunch. (Heterosexual focus.)
* Tiffany Doll, Samantha Bentley – The Mistress and the Barrister (more)
* Peter O`Toole, Cathy Heaven – Taking Charge (more)
* Barbara, Steve Hooper – A Public Place Fantasy
Nubile Films This is where you’ll find beautifully shot couples’ porn, with threesomes, experimentation, award-winning girl-girl scenes and much more. I have a great rapport with the woman who runs their content, and she really gets it about why (and how) I insist on ethical porn here. If you’re looking for top-shelf, heterosexually-focused, explicit yet respectful porn, with a focus on kissing and connection — without the rough stuff — I highly recommend this terrific site. (Heterosexual focus.)
Tristan Taormino Another pioneer that I’m amazed to see keeps getting left off these lists. Author, sex educator, and someone who managed to merge the mainstream porn industry with ethical fair trade porn ethos in porn films she directed. Her films feature professional porn performers, yet she cast them with a formula that matched sex partners by finding out who they really wanted to have sex with. (Heterosexual focus.)
* Tristan Taormino: Lexi Belle in Penny Flame’s Expert Guide to Rough Sex
* Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Pegging (strap-on couples, male receptive)
* Tristan Taormino: Penny Flame’s Expert Guide to Handjobs
* Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Threesomes
Trouble Films Any list that has ethical queer porn on it is incomplete without including Courtney Trouble’s work. The Trouble Films Network is writer, director and performer Courtney Trouble’s independent queer porn film empire. The porn is high quality, explicit, and regularly wins awards for hot sex scenes with a huge variety of sex acts and diverse performers.
Verso Cinema This new European indie is incredible, “a collective of internationally multi awarded filmmakers,” who say, “The prevailing language in porn has always been unimaginative, unrealistic and poorly made, stigmatizing itself as an ordinary and dirty product and devoid of taste and quality. It doesn’t need to be so.”
* Silvia Rubi, Gabe Tonic, David Santos – Thr3e
* Miriam Prado, Jorge Prado – Sweet Sacrifice
* Selina Ak, Alex Ak – Bluette
* Silvia Rubi, Gabe Tonic – Belle Dame
Lastly, no one ever mentions this website — my website, Tiny Nibbles. Since 2001, I’ve been collecting and curating strictly ethical, sex-positive, all-gender, all-color, and all-orientation porn. For going on 15 years, it’s the site people visit to discover new porn that they know is ethical, and there’s none like it. You’ll notice that this content is really hard to find — that’s because all the sites we all use to find stuff (Google, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. — and even the big porn tube sites, who target making deals with mainstream porn) purposely omit this huge part of the internet. Tiny Nibbles doesn’t create porn, but deserves to be on the lists of sources for ethical “fair trade” porn, too.
Many of the links here are affiliate links. That’s how the indie ecosystem works to keep us all going, and it’s how we support each other. Until very recently, the indie/ethical porn genre had ZERO support from the mainstream porn industry. Rather than take ad dollars from companies I have no connection with, I choose to share my valuable traffic and personal endorsement with people whose mission is like mine — celebrating sex-positive pleasure. There are more ethical porn sites, personally vetted, in my right-hand sidebar.

“Theodor Seuss Geisel, better-known as Dr. Seuss, was a legendary children’s book author, radical ideologist, and a lover of reading. Among his many creative feats is a fairly unknown, fairly scandalous one: In 1939, when Geisel left Vanguard for Random House, he had one condition for his new publisher, Bennett Cerf — that he would let Geisel do an “adult” book first. The result was The Seven Lady Godivas: The True Facts Concerning History’s Barest Family.”

“It’s great when a movement speaks to you, and the moment that that happens, you might discover just what is that you want and hope for in this world. I wonder: who felt like a movement was speaking to them when we started seeing the giant orange billboards going up all over Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area? Who read the billboard, “Porn Kills Love. Fight for Love” and was like, YES, you guys, I finally know what I stand for?”
When Porn Complicates The Relationships Of Straight White Christian Hipsters, It’s Not Our Problem (Medium/HARLOT Magazine)
“So 2016 could be the year of the quantified cock. But just because you can doesn’t mean you should and the one thing that neither company is copping to is a lack of consumer interest. The quantified-self movement is already masturbatory enough. Do we really need a device to tell us how to get it on?”
Junk technology: Why your penis pedometer is DOA (Engadget)
“Sovereign Syre, who’s been in the business for six years, says that before every shoot she’s done, she also has talked to her co-stars about boundaries and preferences. The conversation continues throughout the scene. Even directors she’s known for years, Syre says, will ask before tucking in the label on her underwear or rearranging her hair. If, during filming, things get too intense, actors on BDSM shoots use agreed-upon safe words.”
How to Talk About Consent Like a Porn Star (Mother Jones)
“Cock rings have been around since 1200 B.C., but what happened when your ancient ancestors needed a little extra staying power before there were things like rubber, silicone, or stainless steel? Goat eyelids. No, you read that right: real and actual goat eyelids. The premium joints even came with the goat’s eyelashes still attached, for her pleasure and so forth.”
Quack science. Goat parts. Nazi automatons. Your favorite sex toys have sordid histories. (Inverse)
“In order to apply for a job as a courtesan at Sheri’s Ranch … you have to have access to the Internet, know your measurements, and have three really hot pictures (unfiltered, if that’s even a thing anymore) of yourself. Yeah, so anyone, including my mom, can visit the employment section on Sheri’s website and apply to be a courtesan. But that doesn’t mean anyone can actually be one: the process is incredibly selective.”
What Actually Happens at a Nevada Brothel (Thrillist)
“According to the Kinsey Report, around 37 percent of women will experience sleep orgasms by the age of 45. If you’re in your 20s or 30s and have still never woken up climaxing, you’re in luck. The highest incidences of nocturnal orgasm for women overall occur between their 40s and mid 50s—unlike men, who sadly experience all the dream-coming in their teens and early 20s before seeing it diminish rapidly in their 30s. While sleep orgasms can be a relief for those of us in a sex drought, it’s incredibly frustrating for those who can only come while asleep. Message boards and forums are full of cries for help.”
What Are Sleep Orgasms, and How Can I Have One? (Broadly/Vice)
“I have seen a lot of responses to the allegations against James [Deen] saying things like “why would they come forward now, years later?” They did come forward. They told their friends. They told people on the inside. They put James on their no lists. They just didn’t tell you.”
Predators and Profit: James Deen (Lily Cade)
“Sex and romance plays a substantial role in Fallout 4, and IGN’s complete wiki guide will get you started to the road to building relationships and flirting with every available companion. At this time, Piper, Magnolia, and Preston are confirmed romantic options. A player’s lovable status is affected by a Relationship Level referenced in the Loveable Achievement.”
Sex and Romance – Fallout 4 Wiki Guide (IGN; image via Kotaku)
“There was, of course, the much-discussed pegging episode of Broad City, but the rubbery member also popped up on Orange Is the New Black and Sense8. This is exciting for many reasons—the strap-on can be used to invert gender roles, portray a broader spectrum of sexuality, and honestly depict lesbian sex, just to name a few. But its rise is also a hard-won victory, considering the shameful ways Hollywood has previously portrayed objects that provide sexual pleasure.”
How Sex Toys Penetrated Television (Broadly/Vice)
“In Sweden, an all female porn collective — New Level of Pornography — thinks there’s more to sexually arousing filmmaking than cute teens and coeds. “To us it is important to change the term ‘porn’ from the inside,” says Zara Kjellner, the woman behind New Level of Pornography and its corresponding website, where feminist adult entertainment can be seen for free. “We wanted to contribute to the industry with our own ideas of what porn can be.””
[NSFW] Inside Sweden’s Feminist Porn Wave (The Creators Project/Vice)
“The idea that pornography causes – or is at least linked to – sexual violence is often simply accepted without question … But what role does porn actually play in violent crime? The most honest answer to this question is “we don’t know”. There’s no one perfect kind of research that we could do to find out whether porn causes violence. We can show students porn in the lab and see whether they give somebody more electric shocks afterwards, but would the findings apply to people in the real world?”
Asking whether porn causes sexual violence is the wrong question – here’s why (Independent UK)
“Veronica Hart has been in the adult film industry for nearly four decades. She started as an actress and has since become a director, producer, and even a caterer for porn sets. Although porn was once a way pay the rent, Hart kept with it because, she tells us, she sincerely likes the people with whom she works. Still, as a woman, mother, and wife, Hart feels some responsibility for the product she helps put out into the world.”
A Former Porn Star on the Ethics of Adult Films (Men’s Journal)
“Sex is probably the furthest thing from your mind when you think about Star Wars, even though the entire saga is predicated upon a particularly convoluted paternity issue. For an entire series whose existence is due to one night of forbidden love-making, there’s a conspicuous absence of sex. It begs the question: Will there ever be a Star Wars sex scene?”

It’s here! Extreme HR Violations ($3.49) is a collection of ridiculous, extreme, and -intentionally arousing- office sex stories.
These people are unhireable, and their sexual escapades are unbelievable! No really, this thing is like an employee handbook written by perverts. That’s because it is: The authors in this anthology are in award-winning erotica collections, and are also clearly recovering from painful office jobs in their past. This book is what really skilled erotica writers do when they’re blowing off steam… and I think you’ll love it as much as I do.
* Get Extreme HR Violations on Amazon ($3.49).
* Or… get Extreme HR Violations direct from me at Digita Publications ($3.49, .pdf, no DRM).

Here’s my cheeky marketing copy:
The keg: Seven sordid offices…
The powder: Their depraved hiring practices…
The fuse: Applicants’ willingness to do anything with office supplies…
And the white-hot spark was: A horrified human resources department!
The blasts that follow will either confirm—or explode—your ideas about corporate team building!
In Extreme HR Violations, seven skilled authors deliver clever tales of behavior highly inappropriate for any workplace… Secretaries willfully file everything in the bottom drawer. Female execs put male assistants to the oral test in overtime. Interns stage pantyless catfights in the break room. IT workers get “accidentally” trapped between ladies’ legs under desks. Punishments involve filling out forms in ways you’d never imagine.
The ridiculous sex antics by bosses and underlings in these tales of office kink lead readers down shameful career paths, yielding referrals that can only be whispered by the most depraved recruiters.
There’s a ton of chemistry in these stories, and a fun bit of romance too. But make no mistake: These offices are an HR department’s nightmare, and that’s entirely the point.

Nowness writes, “For his first-ever solo exhibition, graphic artist Jamie Hewlett explores a range of disparate subjects, from ‘tarotica’—a titillating reinterpretation of the tarot’s Major Arcana—to photorealist illustrations of a bucolic French landscape. Known for creating punkish comic book Tank Girl and the characters behind Damon Albarn-fronted ‘virtual’ band Gorillaz, here Hewlett pays homage to B-movies from the 1960s and 1970s that revelled in gratuitous sex and violence, by introducing his fictional pin-up Honey.” The video link is here.

Amazon has really fucked up search when it comes to finding or discovering quality erotica and sex titles. That’s why I started this series. My handpicked Kink Your Kindle selections follow strict standards. All fiction must have explicit, realistic sex within rich storylines that are framed by excellent storytelling, as well as complex and compelling characters. Sex acts can range from sweetly romantic to thoughtfully quick and dirty. All nonfiction must be accurate, nonjudgemental, and sex-positive, preferring an all-gender, all-orientation approach.
I hope that Kink Your Kindle helps to hack a path through the Kindle store’s overwhelming swamp of untalented fetish-spammers and inability to sort for quality, which dominates Amazon’s erotica and sex categories. I hope that through Kink Your Kindle you discover new authors you grow to love.

“Because we worked on the margins, we Internet models all knew each other, and we extended one another what protection we could. We spread word about who was a good guy and who was a sociopath, knowing full well that the police would do nothing if one of these sessions ended in rape. I knew a girl who had worked as a bondage model. While tied up, the photographer threatened to kill her. She wept. He let her go. When she went to the police, they shrugged her off. Later, the photographer murdered a different model.”

“In March 2013, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation challenged the world to reinvent the condom — a device that’s been around for centuries yet has seen minimal technological improvement in the past 50 years. The most promising designers would score $100,000 in seed funding, plus a chance at an additional $1 million to further finance their projects. … Two and a half years later, we’re still waiting.”

“A Spike Lee movie set to open Dec. 4, “Chi-Raq,” is a modern riff on the ancient Greek comedy “Lysistrata;” both offer satirical takes on women who go on sex strikes to get men to end violence. But do sex strikes work in real life? A Chicago woman is betting yes: April Lawson started a petition on Change.org to put an end to violence on the South Side.”
Do Sex Strikes Work? (Discovery)
“I hadn’t touched another woman in an intimate way since before getting married six years ago. Then, in the most peculiar circumstances, I was doing it. … After 30 seconds, the experience became too much and I stopped. I ripped off my Oculus Rift headset and stood up from the chair I was sitting on, stunned. It was a powerful experience, and I left convinced that virtual reality was not only the future of sex, but also the future of infidelity.”
Is an Affair in Virtual Reality Still Cheating? (Motherboard/Vice)
“Unfortunately, transgender people are a group that was so marginalized in comics that the only characters trans people could see ourselves in were shapeshifters, aliens and victims of magic spells or science fiction body swaps. While trans characters were scant for most of the history of comic books, these kinds of characters were actually pretty popular, going as far back as DC Comics’ Golden Age.”

“The authors of the Motion Picture Production Code, which came into effect in 1930, were rather more cateogorical about the bare human body. Nudity, they argued, is never justified; it “may be beautiful [but that] does not make its use in the films moral”. All actors, directors, and producers were strictly warned against showing the naked body.” (Sound like modern social media? Yep.)

“Sex furniture is big business; Liberator, the biggest industry player in the States, employs 200 people, while its competitor The Tantra Chair ships worldwide to countries including Saudi Arabia (huge fans of calfskin sex chairs, apparently). For those who can’t afford to drop upwards of $1,299 on a custom-designed sex chair, Internet forums will identify which IKEA product gives you an unexpected bang for your buck.”

“By the 1500s, European women were getting in on the action; some even donned merkins, which are very funny false hairpieces designed for the pubic area, often made of goat hair. After observing the indigenous peoples of the Western Hemisphere, Darwin noted that pubic hair was uncommon in many cultures, citing that many people found the presence of hair “unclean” for both religious and hygienic reasons.”

Discussing Carol, Cate Blanchett’s new film which chronicles a love affair between two women in 1950s New York City, Blanchett told the press at Cannes with perceptible disdain: “What happens these days is if you are homosexual, you have to talk about it constantly; it has to be the only thing; you have to put it before your work, before any other aspect of your personality.”

If you’re a Tumblr erotic photo/art nudes prowler, you’ve probably come across photos with the name CubCollab appended to them. Like most things Tumblr erotic or not, the source of these is tough to track down, and Google’s increasingly muddled (and prudish) search doesn’t help in tracking down artist attribution. Lucky for you, research is one of my fetishes. I found out who, and what, CubCollab is.
CubCollab is model, photographer, stylist and office manager Tanya Dakin and her sweetheart. In response to a comment on her Tumblr, Erotic Tonic, she writes,
Thank you, all the work with CubCollab are intimate projects between myself and my boyfriend who’s much younger than I, hence the name Cub, he is not a photographer per-say, I select the location, mostly when we are vacationing, choose wardrobe and styling to play up the surroundings, set the cameras exposure and base tone, and hand the camera over, he shoots and brackets, and interjects his ideas, he then let’s me do the rest, skin edits, final toning and adjustments. Lately he is the only one I have been wanting to model for In an erotic sense, I’m losing my hunger to express myself in the hands of others, it’s a nice transition into retirement, and beautiful memories we share as artist working together as not just a team, but an intimate couple. We have another vacation getaway coming up end of December, lots of bright rooms with beautiful muted and earthy tones, I’m brainstorming for style and wardrobe already.
I’m a fan. And now I have another mad crush… and I’m looking forward to whatever direction CubCollab decides to go. Also, this photo she styled has an outfit so cute, I’m dying for it.

“Dr. Katherine Goldey and Dr. Sari van Anders of the University of Michigan set out to test a straightforward hypothesis: The more choice women had over the pornography they watched, the more aroused they would become. Unsurprisingly, that prediction came true. But something unexpected happened in their study, too. Women who freely chose their own erotica also experienced more disgust, guilt, and embarrassment than women who were given limited or no choice over their viewing material.”
Why Are Women Still Ashamed of Watching Porn? (Daily Beast)
“Let me start with a prediction: sex robots will become a reality. I say this with some confidence. In making this prediction, I won’t make specific claims about the likely form or degree of intelligence that will be associated with these sex robots. Granting this, it seems to me that there are three stances one can take towards the existence of such robots: Liberation, Regulation, and Criminalisation.”

“Ask any sex worker how they maintain their boundaries, and you’re in for a long conversation. Some people develop a working identity that they keep entirely separate from their real-life persona, and others conflate the two. Many sex workers desperately want to be out but don’t want to endure the invasive questions, or fear that their housing stability or the custody of their children would be compromised. Some of us just don’t feel that connected to the character we’ve created for work, so it seems unimportant to talk about. And while some strippers love putting platforms on and grinding into their partners’ crotches as foreplay, just as many would slap their boyfriend silly if he asked.”

“Adult performers on facing prejudice in one of the most controversial occupations. Exploring the nature of privlege, race, gender and class at the heart of a divisive industry: When the steamy on-screen encounters are over, their clothes are picked up off the floor, and the cameras are switched off, porn performers have to deal with day-to-day life like anyone else – including telling their friends and families how they’re getting paid each month.”

“It appears we’re on the brink of a robo-sexual revolution. Some have claimed that you’ll be, like the selfie, a socially derided mainstay by 2025. Other, more conservative, estimates posit that having sex with you will be either commonplace or more popular than human-on-human sex by 2050. Whatever the case, you’re coming — or should I say arriving — soon.”

“Sangkharom wasn’t always a sex worker, nor did she ever envision herself as one. But, her prior employment — competing in lady boy contests in Isaan, a region in Northeastern Thailand — wasn’t a stable source of income. Sangkharom, who has been working in the sex industry for about 10 years, speaks with pride when she talks about her occupation. Not only does sex work allow her to be economically self-sufficient, but, as someone with an exuberant personality, it also provides her with the freedom she desires. “I like sex work because… it makes me feel good,” she said. “I can choose [the man]. It’s up to me. I can do my way. I can dance and have music, drinking [and] relax.””

“So there’s this essay by Christopher Zeischegg aka Danny Wylde. It’s titled On The Moral Imperative To Commodify Our Sexual Suffering and I think there’s some stuff in there I disagree with. I have to say “I think” because it’s a dense essay with a lot of nuance, some of which may be getting past me. What’s more, I haven’t been where Zeischegg has been or done what he’s done. What I have done is worked (in my pasty-faced keyboarding way) in the same porn industry as him, and experienced (right along with him) certain changes in the porn business …”

““Never, ever send nude photos to a guy. When I say never, I mean fucking never.” The words hit me like a knife in the chest as I read them on page 228 of Amber Rose’s new manifesto on living right, How to Be a Bad Bitch. Even nudes that obscure your face can be identified by tattoos or other characteristics, Amber warns, and in the event of breakup, you’ll have to wonder for the rest of your life if the ex in possession of this salacious contraband will decide to share them with the world at large. … Heeding this rule would effectively crush my whole sexy-selfie game.”

Now, imagine a different thousand people. These people will drive from Detroit to Chicago tomorrow—about 300 miles. How many will die on the trip as a result of a car crash? Which of those two numbers is bigger?” (Hint: Your guess is probably wrong.)

Does the stunning erotic art of Jean-Sébastien Rossbach look familiar? If so, then it’s because he’s known for having “illustrated the covers of Dan Simmons’ Hyperion series, George R. R. Martin’ A Game of Thrones, Robin Hobb’ Royal Assassin and about a hundred more covers for novels, video games, comics, and so on… JS works for prestigious clients among which are Marvel, Dark Horse, Warner Home Video, Ubisoft, SEGA, Wizards of the Coast, Blizzard, Wizkids, Tor Books, SEAT, EMI and many others around the globe.”

Thanks to the rise of anti-sex and anti-art platforms and apps, search engine de-indexing and search censorship, and “objectionable content” gates, finding erotic art is incredibly difficult these days. Even just five years ago, one could reliably discover erotic art in all mediums from all over the world just by looking for it. At this time in our brand-saturated, ad industry sanitized internet, a lot of artists have given up sharing their art online (and erotic art blogs have dried up as a result). Now I’m back to being one of the lone tastemaker bloggers (like it was 10 years ago), but I’d rather have more competition, thanks.
So I’m sure you know how important the free expression of art is to me… which is why I’m delighted to discover The 2015 Feck:Art Competition Winners and Opening Night Party. The invitation to submit explained, “Feck, local producers of socially responsible erotica, invite you to submit your visual response to this erotic art competition for your chance to be exhibited as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.” (Feck are the amazing people behind sites I’ve linked to for ages such as I Feel Myself, I Shot Myself and Beautiful Agony.)
Here’s the online virtual exhibition of the winning artworks.

A blown-glass, wind-up, steampunk-evoking vibrator and a vibrating, penetratable fleshy blob of a vaulting horse are the centerpieces of Design Academy Eindhoven (Netherlands) graduate Bastiaan Buijs‘ final year project. Grandfathers Clock and The Satyr each present as suitable for inclusion in a Scandinavian home design aesthetic, yet, to me, retain something that reminds me how these settings are simultaneously attractive, and yet uncomfortable to actually be in.
‘The satyr’ uses the the buck – a classic gym apparatus [vaulting horse] – as reference for the abstract looking form of this straddle. Targeted for men, the piece produces vibrations and along with a hole at the one end, allows the user to feel an intense and all round stimulating experience.
‘Grandfather’s clock’ is a vibrator fabricated from hand-blown glass. The intricate clockwork mechanism is visible and powers the vibrations (lasting 4-5 minutes) powered by winding the key. The use of craftsmanship and unconventional materials hopes for people to not have them hidden away, but proud and decorative objects of lust. (designboom)
About The Satyr, Buijs writes, “I gave the design a more abstract form and changed its function from a gym into a sexobject for men. It has organic forms and hole meant for the man to put his penis in. The vibrations, height and roundings result in an intensely stimulating physical experience.” He told designboom, “The normalization of ordinary sex toys in my opinion, contribute to the breaking of taboos around sexuality.”

I regret switching to an iPhone for a lot of reasons (although security isn’t one of them). I miss a lot of things about the Android OS, and now MiKandi’s comic store has me seriously considering fitting an Android tablet purchase into my budget. I love comics. Especially explicit erotic comics; my apartment is dotted with stacks of them, which have overflowed from my bookcases, piled knee-high in a gloriously NSFW mix with rare erotic art and photography books.
MiKandi’s store has a hell of a selection, the kind of titles my local store would special order for me. (Hint: I like my sex comics well-drawn, imaginative, outrageous, impossible, and filthy.) I’d love to see MiKandi add all the old Eros Comix & Fantagraphics (@eroscomix), as well as Last Gasp’s erotic comics and erotic graphic novels in their store.
At present, I noticed they have Deimos, comics by Hizzacked (that’s her Binary Gangbang above, here’s Sequoia State), CutePet, and MiKandi just announced it’s adding “Switch” by artist Reinbach (main post image; image below). I especially like MiKiandi’s line, “Experience the best adult comics, hentai manga, and erotic books anytime, anywhere from the app store that treats you like an adult.” Thank you.
* Researching Hizzacked for this post I discovered that Coinbase doesn’t allow “adult” transactions, and banned her for selling her comics and artwork with bitcoin through the service. WTF, Coinbase?! I’m never recommending Coinbase again.

I’d love to see MiKandi add all the old Eros Comix & Fantagraphics (@eroscomix), as well as Last Gasp’s erotic comics and erotic graphic novels in their store.

I first discovered the magical, eerie, strangely sensuous and seriously remarkable work of Marina Bychkova – Enchanted Doll – back in 2006 and I covered it on Fleshbot, where I worked at the time (and now sadly many of my posts are 404s). My love for her work only grew, so I was thrilled to post about her again when her work was featured in the December 2012 issue of Vogue Japan.
See why I’m such a huge fan by taking a look at her galleries (and nudes).
This time, there’s no direct reason for a revisit other than that I just wanted to see what she’s been up to at Enchanted Doll. She retired six months ago… but couldn’t stay retired, yay! Turns out since then, she’s been busy – and now has these exquisite Enchanted Paper Dolls for sale. “Currently there are 4 designs: Cinderella, Sapphire, Echo and Imperial Concubine.”
And there’s an Enchanted Doll book (unboxing here)! She also made an incredible breast cancer survivor doll. There was also a 2015 Enchanted Doll tattoo contest, which is well worth a look. Take the time to click on the entries, as each have multiple submissions from around the world and writings about impermanence, art, and much more.
If you like Vancouver-based Bychkova’s work as much as I do, definitely keep up with her blog and Twitter account. There’s also a monthly Enchanted Doll email newsletter.

Here’s a little light pre-Folsom Street Fair fun: Some of the artists and performers at Kink decided to make a mini-parody of Rihanna’s superb music video Bitch Better Have My Money (a non-YouTube link is here on Vevo if you’re held back by Google’s restrictions)., called Bitch Better Lick My Honey. You can tell they had a lot of fun making it, and it looks like they used Kink’s rooftop, the Armory’s Drill Court and the road along San Francisco’s Twin Peaks for locations.
The video’s copy on Vimeo tells us, “Daisy Ducati and her best bitches, Maitresse Madeline and Lorelei Lee, take Holly Heart on the sexiest, kinkiest bender of her life.” However, while the video is also to be found on YouTube, Kink spokesperson Mike Stabile spoke truth when he said, “Adult content is often flagged and removed from mainstream sites, even when it’s it’s less explicit than similar content. That’s why, even though it’s not porn per se, we’re working with PornHub as a distribution partner.”
And guess what’s not in other blog posts about this? The very explicit fun they had while shooting the video, as seen in this Whipped Ass promo gallery (with videos).

Erotic photographer and filmmaker Dave Naz has been doing some really compelling work around gender, sexuality and identity over the past few years. It’s also really important work, because there’s nothing like it. Naz’s examinations not only focus on gender, identity and areas of sexual spectrum that are consistently overlooked, sidelined and ignored by most. His films create a space in which the conversations about these things are in the words of the people we’re observing — and this is so very important. I’m a fan, and I want as many people to see this work as possible.
I previously wrote The fourth installment of Trans by Dave Naz and Triptych: The three installments of Trans: A Photo and Video Project by Dave Naz if you want more background. You can also read about Dave’s Trans project here, and his book Genderqueer here.
Naz’s new documentary Identity: In & Beyond the Binary is posted in full on YouTube and embedded above. It’s a 1-hour documentary interviewing trans, genderqueer, butch and queer people on their varied experiences with gender identity. The interviews address topics from hormones to employment to growing up.
The doc features: Buck Angel, Michelle Austin, Birdmountain, Matty Boi, Jonelle Brooks, Eva Cassini, Colten, James Darling, Afro Disiac, Jade Downing, Evie Eliot, Jenny Elizabeth, Michelle Firestone, Foxxy, Jamie French, Khloe Hart, Mis Isabella, Tara Jolie, Tasha Jones, Riley Kilo, Kristel, Jiz Lee, Eva Lin, Kelli Lox, Venus Lux, Mandy Mitchell, Chelsea Poe, Andre Shakti, Shawn, Kendra Sinclair, Stefani Special, Tiffany Starr, Wendy Summers, Tristan Taormino, Courtney Trouble, and Wolfe Moon.

My newest book Wetware: Cyberpunk Erotica is a labor of love — from myself, and all the authors I worked with to create the collection. To share with you what’s in it, I’ve included the introduction in its entirety — a full free chapter — in this post, below. I hope you like it.
Wetware was was meant to be more than an erotica collection, but also a commentary on the state of cyberpunk culture today. And according to the reviews, the book is more successful in this goal. In fact, the reviews are blowing my mind, so I have to share a few choice snippets with you before you dig in.
Best erotica collection of 2015: Simply put, Blue’s collection is one of the best erotica anthologies I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Gorgeous prose, from Blue’s intro on cyberpunk lit to each erotic story. These stories blur the lines of gender, of sexuality, and of what it means to be human. –Rebecca
Over too soon: Everything was hot, the plots underneath them all varied more than I’d imagined, and the small bits of cyberpunk culture recommendations in between worked wonderfully as transitions. This is the level of substance I want to read in more erotica collections. The lack of any stories that made me cringe or skim through only adds to it. The one time I thought a story would be gross is the time my expectations got tossed on their head. Wetware is simply fantastic. –Ken F
The Future Cannot Come Soon Enough: Each story presents a different version of the future; universes where technology and discovery are seamlessly coupled (pun intended) with unabashed sexuality. The sex is raw, often rough; the characters are needy, hungry, vibrant…real. The collection offers variety in voices, settings, and couplings, all the while maintaining the uniform sterling quality of writing.
I would have a hard time picking a favourite story: I enjoyed the flawless integration of the world building in Sixty Five Night, the twist in Never Say No, and the insight of Synthetic Skin. The prologue, an essay on cyberpunk and sexuality by Violet Blue herself, is not to be missed. –TheJulia
And with that, here’s the first chapter of Wetware:
INTRODUCTION: CODED IN SPIRALS AND PHEROMONES
BY VIOLET BLUE
Cyberpunk sexuality is revolutionary. It always has been, and always will be — this is one of its most threatening, exciting, and arousing aspects. And yet, cyberpunk is so very different than it was a decade ago.
“High tech, low life” is cyberpunk’s front-facing motto. It used to suggest an underclass — in station, gender, sexuality, skin color, ability, or circumstance — a snapshot of the possibility of hacked tech (or biotech) facilitating change, vis a vis the protagonist hacker’s complicated gifts. Contemporarily, the slogan conjures visions of rich corporate tech assholes slumming it in Bay Area dive bars, wearing hoodies that read “hacker” — while there’s not an ounce of punk in them, and their distinct interest is in preserving the financial and moral status quo.
As you’ll see in this collection of erotic short fiction, cyberpunk has changed, and its dystopia has assimilated the hypocrites, the privileged and the assholes. Tech didn’t empower us to even the stakes, it just gave us a window with which to watch Neuromancer, Blade Runner, and The Matrix come true. And new cyberpunk erotica embraces our recalibrated urge to smash the state. Or as Thomas S. Roche puts it in Bishop to King’s Pawn, Two: “The war machine is a fog machine, it always had been.”
A story, interestingly, where love is a side effect of stolen weaponized biotech:
Behind Winged Victory, he was chatting with either Arkady Bougarin or Jovan Stijovic. The latter’s company, SerbArms, manufactured the new Celikkrik, or “Steel Scream.” Did that handshake mean a shipment of ultrasound cannons would be loaded onto an Antonov bound for Athens first thing in the morning?
Bishop put her eyes on him with such intensity that he couldn’t help but notice. That was one of the things these ex-spooks brought with them into their tenure in the shadow government: Peripheral vision that preceded on intuition. Bishop had it in spades, too, though she’d gained it in different environs.
Bishop gave him a subtle smirk, her eyes emitting a knowing glow. Jesus, she loved him. She loved him so much she could feel it like a volt from her brain stem to her stomach, which flipped with the realization, and sent the current to her pussy, which warmed and juiced simultaneously. This was definitely something fucking new for Bishop. She wanted to fuck him right now, with everyone watching.
She practically did. He saw her. She eyefucked him. He eyefucked back. Fuck, fuck, fuck, she was so in love with this fucker that it hurt to look at him.
—Thomas S. Roche, “Bishop to King’s Pawn, Two”
Like more than a few people, cyberpunk fiction was where I finally reconciled with feeling like an outsider in my own body. Beyond its pivotal fantasies of transhumanism, cyberpunk’s sexuality embraced the gender spectrum in a way that actually felt like it could make sense: Individuated.
By the time Snow Crash came out, we were all beyond buying what we were told was “right” and “wrong” about sex, and love, and gender. We knew it was a trick to maintain gender roles and economics, a means of control that would soon cease to make sense. Cyberpunk, when at its best, embraced this. Here, binary belongs to code, not gender, and while it’s arousing to watch Trinity and Neo fuck, it’s great cyberpunk because it’s describing something hot — not prescribing gender, desire or behavior.
Neve sighed.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that, Dave.”
She smiled at the joke, but it made me cold inside. Not just because of the obvious cultural echo, but because Neve has never been allowed to call me by name. Even when Olivia and I had first purchased her, I was always “Master.” It took on a new and deviant meaning once I had started to play with her privately, when Olivia wasn’t around. But when Olivia left, that’s when I’d truly become Neve’s Master.
My eyes bugged out.
“What did you say?” I asked.
“I said I’m sorry, Dave, I can’t let you out of the apartment. Not until after I’ve taught you a lesson or two.”
–Devyn X. Sands, “Never Say No”
This isn’t a typical erotica collection, nor is it a typical fiction anthology. It can’t be. Cyberpunk must remain true to itself, for that is its ethos and heart, and so it must also be about culture as much as techno-wank. This book has hot sex in it, yes. It’s cyberpunk genre fiction, yes; it relies on technology or biotechnology to tell its edgy stories.
But each story is bookended with an interstitial that brings you back to cyberpunk culture, and the things that make those of us who grew up there who we are today, in a wholly celebratory way: little cheers for our cultures and our sexualities, for they are most certainly and wonderfully entwined.
The systems still suck, and our complicated gifts don’t make anything easy, but we deserve pleasure where we can find it.
Casey made his way past a table of Annex guys. There was Jack Newton. His face was pink with a half-dozen drinks or more. He checked Casey out with blatantly non-professional interest.
Casey had not expected anyone to recognize the suit; if they had, then it wouldn’t be much of a damned exfil suit, would it? But everything had been tense as hell at the Annex since those Code Safety activists attempted a backdoor into the Hardware Dev Team’s system a few weeks ago.
Ironically enough, it was Casey’s clean-up of the incursion path that got him the opportunity to falsify the sign-out log and get the Mark V out of the equipment locker. He had the Code Safety crew to thank for his walking into the Smith & Jones bar and seeing Jack Newton and Mike Stanley both damn near pop boners when they caught sight of him.
Casey breathed easier. Newton and Stanley led the Annex’s FBI counter-terrorism liaison team, on TDY from the J. Edgar Hoover building in downtown DC. Sitting with them were Andy Korowski and Mark Blunt, two on-site Annex security contractors. It was Andy who always gave Casey shit when he wanted to prop open the door to third-floor south so Casey didn’t have to ring Andy’s cell for an “exfil” when he was done taking a shit. Andy didn’t spot the suit, either. Ironic, wasn’t it?
Andy and Mark checked him out, too. Those weren’t the looks of Q-Clearance guys spotting their tech on the run; those were guys lusting after a hot blonde piece of ass twenty years their junior.
Casey felt a warm glow. His tension lightened. He rabbited for the back room, trying to look like he wasn’t rabbiting.
—Kendra Jarry, “Synthetic Skin”
This book’s stories reflect the current places that sex and cyberpunk have found themselves in, and that, to me as an editor, was a really interesting thing to discover. Like many who felt that cyberpunk fiction and films spoke directly to their experience, the old-school brand of hard, noir, transgressive, anti-hero fiction was a thing that made sense to me. I grew up in San Francisco; my biological mother was the only blood relation I knew for any length of time, and she was a Stanford engineering grad who was supervising military contract work in Silicon Valley by the time I was nine.
She was a single mom, and also a drug addict whose life spiraled out of control, partying with game designers and hackers (who must be in coder retirement homes by now). I wasn’t allowed friends my own age, so spent my time with her friends and boyfriends, whose computers, magazines and book collections gave me escape into green DOS screens, games and sci-fi.
Things got really bad, and I ran away at 14 to live on the streets with gutter punks my age, whose home lives made mine look like a cakewalk. There, sexuality was fluid and respect was earned. I emerged having replaced my only family member with punk street values—to then find a natural fit with the freaks, phreaks, hackers, career criminals, and evil geniuses at Survival Research Laboratories, my home for over a decade.
It was developing tech, of course. Nate emphasized that there was no quality control.
Protective measures, Nate had cautioned her, must be taken. Don’t give your connectome-reconstruct Marcus control over anything dangerous. Precautions, precautions, precautions.
Amira took none.
A week after she first booted her new Marcus, she visited the Elective suite on Twenty-Two Medical. She went for the whole suite of Skinteractives. Nipples, clit, labia, butt-cheeks, butthole, face, mouth, fingers, earlobes, toes… trachea, even. Everywhere they’d install them.
–Stephen Stavros, “Sixty-Five Night”
I saw many flavors of cyberpunk life as part of SRL, working almost daily at our San Francisco machine shop, and internationally, with the earned title of machine operator at our industrial machine art shows that were performed worldwide.
Many names familiar to cyberpunk (and punk) culture spent time with us. William S. Burroughs had a birthday party at our shop. Hunter S. Thompson slept on the couch (and had to have a flame thrower taken away from him on one occasion). Bruce Sterling fled during production of one of our shows, in what we all joked was abject terror from the loud, drunken butch-dyke lesbian sex that happened on the cot next to him late one night in an abandoned Phoenix warehouse (which we’d commandeered to sleep in). 2600 and Rotten crews (among many others) brought us “presents.” There are so many more stories like these, but you get the idea.
Some of them log out and run at this point. Not many, to be fair.
“Okay,” he says, his voice betraying strain. “This is a dream, right?” He’s tall, in the flesh, with nut-colored hair that sticks out at the front and a square face just starting to soften about the chin. He’s wearing a Heavy Metal T-shirt, but it’s nice and new and clean. No over-muscled warrior then, but attractive enough.
“Of course it is,” I answer soothingly, stroking his ballsack and feeling it tighten in my hand. I can see a room full of files and books and DVDs behind him. It looks like a domestic scriptorium. A study — yes, that’s the word. “Do you like it?” I ask.
“Uh. Yes.”
“Are you alone?”
“Yes. My … everyone’s gone to bed.”
“What’s your real name, Curelion the Hallowed?”
“Joe,” he whispers. His eyes look glazed. I can see him groping at his crotch, but he can’t intercept my hands. He can only feel the effect they’re having, and it’s making him buck and bite his lip.
“Would you like to fuck me, Joe?”
—Janine Ashbless, “Grinding”
Cyberpunk is different now. It was already sophisticated both technologically and socially beyond what society could handle—and it reflected a real, living, breathing culture.
But it has lived to see itself become attainable and popularized, and this changes the whole conversation. All the things that cyberpunk hated are now more part of its worlds than ever. Things have become amazing, and tools of oppression (like gender and sexuality) are being upended — while at the same time something has gone terribly wrong with the way technology was supposed to empower us.
There, in the pale light, I saw her skin begin to blossom, on that single spot at the edge of her right buttock. To my sinking dismay, a drop of blood had appeared.
She sighed, moaned softly. I thought for a second she was going to laugh, but she didn’t.
Something was wrong.
I touched my fingertips to the place on her ass, lifted my hand and inspected the drop of her blood.
It was the wrong color, not quite red enough, too thin. I licked my finger and my mood darkened. I threw the whip down.
Grabbing her hair, then, pushing her head forward. I felt for the lump, knowing it was there. It only took me a minute to find it.
Madeline had engineered this. But why? I worked back the thin plastic covering buried in Coreen’s hair. She grew silent.
“Playing against the rules?” I asked as I exposed the tiny jack, and chuckled.
Coreen remained silent, then let out a faint spray of laughter. Her naked body shook with it.
I left her for a moment and returned with the necessary equipment.
—N.T. Morley, “Dangerous Circuitry”
It is our growing sense of things gone terribly wrong that gives the stories here their power, anchored in one of cyberpunk’s most defiant agents of change: the human sexual connection (even in this book, where the sex isn’t always with humans).
The title of this anthology, Wetware, was considered with express acknowledgement and cyber-nod to Rudy Rucker’s 1988 biopunk sci-fi novel of the same name, itself the middle of the Ware trilogy. Wetware as a genre in hacking indicated biological hacking, of which there is plenty of in the stories here.
The authors whose stories were selected for this collection have all been very patient with me, and deserve a special thank you for putting up with every maniacal edit I requested. I put myself in your seat, dear reader, and us pervy technoweenies are a demanding bunch. I hope you enjoy the selections here as much as I do.

Okay, no one was as great as Bob Fosse. But the new trailer video for San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair makes me so proud of my hometown right now! FOLSOM STREET was directed and produced by Aron Kantor, choreographed by Danny Dolan, and features Broadway performer Colin Cunliffe, nightlife promoter Mario Diaz, gender-queer drag queen Grace Towers, local treasure Fauxnique, and a variety of San Francisco dancers and performers. The short film’s creators explain,
San Francisco has long pushed culture boundaries, radical self-expression and sexual freedom. Today awash in stories of the changing face of the city and its quickly eroding creative communities, “Folsom Street” joyously celebrates the rich history of diversity that pushes the limits of raw sexuality that make this city the exciting cultural haven that it has always been.
… The film serves as both a metaphor for the Folsom Street Fair and an example of the possibilities of queer community effort and activism.
Folsom Street Fair 2015 is Sunday, September 27, 11am – 6pm on Folsom Street between 8th and 13th streets in San Francisco, CA.

This isn’t a sex related post, so feel free to skip this one and rest happy knowing we’ll be back to our irregularly scheduled sex culture fascinations after this post. (You can always enjoy my new cyberpunk erotica collection in the interim.)
While covering two information security conferences for work in Las Vegas last weekend, I stayed at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, which was the location of the second conference (DEF CON 23). I’m a massive horror film fan, and occasional film reviewer for various media outlets, so I know a lot of odd details about choices directors have made when making certain films. The Shining is one of my favorites, and I’ve studied it extensively. With that in mind, Bally’s, formerly the MGM Grand, is by far one of the creepiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
It’s important to note that everything in this post related to films is entirely coincidental.
On the second day of my stay, a fire alarm went off sometime before I awoke in the morning, it seemed to be outside and continued for over an hour until I left my room to get in a cab and go to work at Mandalay Bay, location of the Black Hat conference. I mentioned the alarm to the cab driver, and he remarked at what a traumatic noise that must have been for people at Bally’s. When I asked why, he told me about the 1980 fire in the casino, which spread to the hotel, killing 85 people and injuring over 700. You can read the fire investigation report here.
Most of the deaths, I discovered, occurred in the North — now Indigo — tower rooms, hallways, stairwells, floor lobbies, and elevators. I noticed that the Wikipedia article seems to deliberately skirt this fact. Only a few deaths occurred in the casino, and a few others died from jumping or falling. The fire started from faulty wiring in a kitchen socket, and estimates by the Clark County Fire Department clocked the speed of the fire’s spread through the casino at 15 to 19 feet per second. Because the fire started at around 7:00 am, most guests were in their rooms (the hotel was at 99% capacity). It was a tragedy that changed regulations around fire alarms and fire sprinklers.
I was already uncomfortable about the hotel, due to a nightmare about people — or rather, human mannequins in breathing masks — watching me from a square cut in the ceiling over my bed. But that cab ride was when I realized just how much the hotel reminded me of Stanley Kubrick’s film, The Shining. Please note that there’s no way the two could possibly be related; The Shining came out in May 1980, while the MGM’s (Bally’s) fire happened in November 1980.
The MGM Grand had originally opened on the Bally’s site in 1973, and for its 7-year run, was *the* place for Hollywood stars to stay, play (lotsa Rat Pack activity), perform, and film celebrity TV shows.
Interestingly, in The Shining as Mr. Ullman tours Jack and Wendy through the Overlook, he says,
Ullman: “This place has had an illustrious past. In it’s heyday it was one of the stopping places for the jet sets … even before anyone knew what a jet set was. We had four presidents who stayed here. Lotsa movie stars.”
Wendy: “Royalty?”
Ullman: “All the best people.”
1. South Tower (Jubilee Tower) hallway color palette
The South tower was under construction when the North’s tragedy occurred. Stepping out of my South Tower (Jubilee) room and looking down the hall was when I first remembered the color palette of The Shining. Not many people realize this, but there are two separate color themes in The Shining — and they’re both inside the hotel. The color theme we remember the most is in the parts of the hotel that are occupied by hotel guests who are still alive — namely, where Danny rides his bike.
The hallway outside my room in the South Tower:
An example of The Shining:
2. The elevator doors
This color match stood out after I noticed the parity in the hallway’s coffee brown, red, and orange palette. The elevator doors in the South Tower:
The elevator doors in The Shining:
3. They both have a Gold Room
The Gold Room is the Overlook hotel’s ballroom, appearing in the film a few times in different eras. Famously, it’s where Jack — after passing a hallway lined with four huge mirrors, each of which reflects Jack’s inner psychosis seen in his facial expressions — visits with ghost bartender Lloyd and Jack “falls off the wagon.” Jack sits at the bar facing yet another mirror, covers his eyes, Lloyd appears, and Jack has a drink. After his sip, Lloyd steps aside and Jack can no longer be seen in the mirror.
The hotel was full of DEF CON attendees so I only got this shot to show Bally’s Gold Room:
The Shining Gold Room:
4. North Tower (Indigo Tower) hallway color palette
At this point, I was wondering about the colors in the North Tower, and realized that it was the “Indigo” tower — so there was a good chance it would be in blue ranges. Which bugged me, because I knew that in The Shining, the color palette for areas in the hotel where people are murdered — the realm of the dead — was in blue and mustard yellow. While the Art Deco bathtub scene, the famous “Room 237″ scene, is in greens, the rest of the murder scenes are in mustard/blue parts of the hotel. The hallway with the twins is mustard yellow with blue; the outside of the notorious “Here’s Johnny!” scene is mustard with blue (and so on).
The Twins:
North Tower color scheme, entrance to 20th floor lobby:
5. Use of mirrors and disorientation
I mentioned the mirrors in The Shining’s scene of Jack and the Gold Room. Stanley Kubrick’s use of mirrors in The Shining are widely written about, because they’re prevalent and symbolic throughout the film. The mirrors mostly reflect doors, and show characters when they’re struggling between, or succumbing to, the barriers between the living and the dead. Danny meets his “redrum” friend in a mirror; Jack’s demons reveal themselves in numerous mirrors throughout the film; we see “REDRUM” on a door in the mirror.
There’s much more with mirrors in the film, but you get the idea. Kubrick meant The Overlook to be spatially disorienting, and even physically impossible (an outside window in an inner office; stairs to nowhere, etc.), and the film’s mirrors are part of Kubrick’s intentional disorientation of the viewer.
Which is why, when out of curiosity I visited the North Tower and picked the 20th floor at random, I was a little freaked out to discover not only the color scheme, but that its guest room hallways are practically lined with mirrors (unlike any of the South Tower floors). Here, giant mirrors cover the walls, primarily reflecting doors.
But in many cases, they’re only reflecting each other — so walking down the halls, looking to left or right shows an infinity stretching and warping into a curved blackness you can’t see the end of.
Above: The round mirror is actually reflecting a full-wall mirror across from it, so the door you see on the left is actually also the door on the right.
Below: In some places, I stood in the reflection of three mirrors, and could not be seen. You can see the mirrors in front of me are reflecting the mirror behind me — but not me.
On the 20th floor, I also noticed that there appear to be room numbers missing.
I’m glad to have discovered later — and not when I was there — how many people died in the 20th floor hallways, several 20th floor rooms, its stairwell, and the 20th floor lobby. There’s a list (incomplete) of deaths and hotel areas here.
I uploaded all the full-size images from my 20th floor trip here if you want to see more photos and look closer.

Cyberpunk anti-heroes face global conspiracies, misused government R&D, thugs, drugs, true love, artificial intelligence, and vengeful sexbots in my newest collection, Wetware: Cyberpunk Erotica.
Wetware is the cyberpunk erotic anthology I’ve been working on — and it’s done! — and you can now pre-order it on Amazon for Kindle ($3.89)! It’s out on Thursday, August 6, and if you want to wait and get it from me direct, check DigitaPub.com on the same day for a .pdf at $3.49. I’m so excited! I’m extremely proud of this book.
Wetware shows how hot “high tech low life” can get when it’s spiked with all the glittering and frightening possibilities of cyberpunk. Seven unpredictable stories depict hackers, transhumans, androids, pop stars, armed revolutionaries, government contractors and more who discover that sex is hotter with hacked, stolen and renegade tech — especially when it’s a high-risk proposition.
Some erotica writers have ideas, others have visions. Love is a side-effect of stolen, weaponized biotech in “Bishop to King’s Pawn, Two” by Thomas S. Roche. In “Synthetic Skin” by Kendra Jarry, a government contractor steals secret field hardware for the sole purpose of seduction. A brainwave hacker’s conquest in a club bathroom stall takes a turn in Cecilia Tan’s “Rough, Trade.”
Lines are crossed and re-crossed when the household helper bot in Devyn X. Sands’ “Never Say No” has had enough of her owner’s perversions. “Sixty-Five Night” by Stephen Stavros charts a dangerous AI experiment that pushes one woman into a seedy neon ghetto for a public transhuman sexual encounter — under the shadow of a murder conspiracy.
Cyberpunk’s sexuality has always been transgressive and prescient; this collection brings the genre’s tradition into the current state of cyberpunk affairs. Wetware isn’t a typical erotica collection, nor is it a typical sci-fi anthology. It’s also a rich celebration of hacker and cyberpunk culture, within the hallmarks of this culture’s rich and diverse sexualities and genders. It’s a tech-savvy, philosophically-rich, erotic anthology artfully spiked with cyberpunk-themed cocktail recipes and recommendations for sexy cyberpunk films, books, and anime.
My introduction “Coded in Spirals and Pheromones” features story excerpts in an essay examining cyberpunk sexuality, and how our fantasies of a gilded cyberpunk future have arrived — while at the same time, something has gone horribly wrong with the way technology was supposed to empower us. Blue explains exactly why “it is our growing sense of things gone terribly wrong that gives the stories here their power, anchored in one of cyberpunk’s most defiant agents of change: Sex.”
Table of Contents
This book contains adult situations, including BDSM, domestic discipline, gender fluidity in sexual situations, backdoor and oral play, power exchange, role-play, spanking, bisexual men, and explicit scenes. The book also depicts non-monogamous relationships and sexual activity (and penetration) involving more than two individuals.

Once I found what people were doing with DeepDream and porn images online, I immediately had to see as much as I possibly could. Salvador Dali would be crazed with delight to have this tool to play with; maybe he’d feel like there was a place for him in our new technologies. These images are the result of feeding an image (in this post, porn photos) into an artificial neural network, thanks to Google.
Google researchers discovered, “neural networks that were trained to discriminate between different kinds of images have quite a bit of the information needed to generate images too.” Google released DeepDream on June 17, in this post on its research blog. VICE describes DeepDream thusly,
Google’s DeepDream program takes images fed into the company’s image recognition system and turns them into the most extreme version of that image imaginable. The network snags tiny portions of an image and runs it through its recognition system, exaggerating small features within it. As we explained last month:
“This basically generated a feedback loop, which exaggerated or read more meaning into simple features. For example, the researchers explained that: ‘If a cloud looks a little bit like a bird, the network will make it look more like a bird. This in turn will make the network recognize the bird even more strongly on the next pass and so forth, until a highly detailed bird appears, seemingly out of nowhere.'”
This large-scale .gif is just insane. Find a more at Deepdream Porn and r/deepdream.

Above is the embed for Rihanna’s new video, Bitch Better Have My Money (a non-YouTube link is here on Vevo if you’re held back by Google’s restrictions). It comes with a sex and violence warning for readers; survivors of sexual assault and trauma will skip hitting the ‘play’ button on this one. Why? It’s a full-on, blood-drenched cult film, a reverently grindhouse-style spectacle of sex, violence and style. So it isn’t for everyone, but is certainly, definitely for me.
I couldn’t decide whether to put this one in erotic art or erotic fashion, because it’s a visual feast, yet the couture is off the hook in every scene (as we’ve come to expect from Rihanna). So much couture/shoe/rubber/everything envy here. But if you’re a cult and horror film addict like me, this little flick is even more of a treat — and I’m enjoying watching the media scramble to call all the cult film references here. There are tons. The closest so far is Dazed, who writes,
For such an overtly cinematic watch, it’s no surprise that the seven-minute Rihanna and Megaforce-directed blockbuster doesn’t shy away from paying homage to cult film. BBHMM relentlessly throws out references across the spectrum, making for a full-blooded visual spectacle and a music video that wears its grindhouse and slash horror influences on its sleeve.
While BBHMM certainly draws on the blood reds of Dario Argento’s work or the comic horror of 70’s B-movies, we’ve aimed for the big screen and decoded RiRi’s reverence for Hollywood. (…read more, dazeddigital.com)

So, every year here in San Francisco on the day before the parade, there’s the Dyke March and Pink Saturday. There’s a lot of important history behind both of those things, and I recommend investigating them beyond this post. Every year, I go to both, which is pretty easy to do because the Dyke March goes from Dolores Park, down the traditional march route through the Mission District, and then ends back up in the Castro, where everyone chills out, dances, drinks, eats, and the streets are closed to cars for the party (called Pink Saturday). It’s a “take back the night” sort of event.
This year, something changed with who runs the organization of the combined event. I’m an outsider so I don’t have all the details on a lot of this, but I can tell you what happened as far as I understand it. Usually the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence organize it, and get donations to do so during the event. They do a really amazing job every year, security is tight but that’s reassuring, and the streets are clear and clean by midnight. The morning after Pink Saturday, you’ll walk out into the Castro and you can’t really tell that 100,000 people were just partying wildly in the street.
But the Sisters didn’t run it this year. Someone ran it who had no fucking idea what they were doing. And they had the entirely non-brilliant idea of changing the time of the march, the march route, and the time of the event’s shutdown. It not being the Sisters’ event, they couldn’t call it Pink Saturday and tried to re-brand it as “Pink Party.” I heard, from people in the street while everyone was asking what the fuck was going on (I’ll get to that in a minute), that proper community outreach wasn’t done, and the new schedule was probably going to impact the services at local churches, who usually re-schedule their Saturday services around the march.
Anyway, they decided to start the Dyke March 2 1/2 hours early. Before they started it, they ranted on the microphone about how they were saving the Dyke March, and talked shit about the Sisters, which was really fucking classless and disrespectful. They spoke as if they were going to run it form now on. Then they said, let’s march.
The Dykes on Bikes revved their engines, parked around the corner from where they traditionally park, now out of view of Dolores Park. There were much fewer than usual. The new organizers started the march. And everyone was completely confused.
Before they started the march, Dolores Park and the surrounding area looked like this:
After they started the march, and marched away with some of the people, Dolores Park and the surrounding area looked like this:
This is when all us total strangers started asking each other what the hell was going on. We stood there, wondering what to do. My friends asked if we should go with the march, and I said I didn’t want to, that I wanted to see what might happen. After a few minutes of nothing, we decided to go to the Big Gay Karaoke House Party we go to every year, which is along the old Dyke March route — used to be you could sit on the porch and cheer on the dykes as they went by.
So we walked past a barrier of motorcycle cops, and another gate, and just outside the gate, I turned around and saw this:
I told my friends to stop. I walked out into traffic. And saw a wall of dykes, marching. Through the cops, who decided there were too many to stop. (I have it on good authority one of the cops actually high-fived one of the marchers.)
I stayed in the middle of the intersection. The wall surged forward, over the barrier and into the intersection of Guerrero and 18th.
They were chanting. They were powerful. They were angry, and it was a righteous anger.
They were taking back the Dyke March.
And the march was massive. Blocks and blocks of women smiling and yelling, “Whose streets? OUR STREETS! Whose streets? OUR STREETS!” And I yelled with them, shooting photos with one hand and making a fist in the air with the other one.
I went to take a picture of this person, and they said no — you belong in the photo, and pulled me in.
We all walked with the march down to our house party, and then parked our platforms and drank beer on the porch, cheering on the dykes, who streamed past for a long time.
Upstairs later, I noticed this new paint job on 18th:
After some epic gay karaoke, we ambled out to get food, and people were literally dancing in the street all down 18th, in front of Bi-Rite, and they were insanely happy, and friendly. But then at 7, the police started clearing the street, and the street sweepers came (this usually happens at midnight). People danced on the sidewalk — until the cops cleared them along. There were tons of police, it was way too early to kick everyone out, and they were visibly frustrated.
We walked back to my apartment, and saw that they were trying to shut down the Castro, too — four hours before the party usually ends. Before dark. If you’ve ever been to Pink Saturday, or you know anything about it, you know that this makes no sense, and it flies in the face of why being in the Castro on that night (night in particular) is important.
I noticed that one half of the event had like no police, and security was so lax in places that it was worrying (we weren’t checked, or stopped, or anything). So, I really hope everyone gets home safe tonight. Like, please.
I hope The City gives the Sisters everything they need — like, MONEY and support — to run the event next year.

Today is a really happy day in the U.S., and especially here in my hometown San Francisco. People are literally going happy-crazy in the streets — and we expect this to last all weekend long. It’s beyond amazing!
There’s something I want you to read, however, which is LGBT related and is something that I’m trying to raise awareness about. It’s my newest investigative piece for Engadget, Women, LGBT least safe on Facebook, despite ‘real name’ policy.
If you, or anyone you know, has been asked to submit ID to Facebook, please read this. It’s also the first report to show that Facebook is the number one hot spot online for stalking, harassment and abuse — despite its “real names” policy.
For those of us who watched Google evolve during the #Nymwars it’s both terrifying and validating.
The report is from NNEDV, and those at extreme risk (at least 23 million Facebook users) are victims of domestic violence, victims of sexual assault, women, and LGBTQ people.
In it, I interviewed people who have submitted legal ID to Facebook to unlock their accounts after being “flagged” for allegedly using a fake name — and the company used their ID to change their account names without their consent, and locked the account function so they cannot change the name back.
Here’s an excerpt:
Despite Facebook’s insistence that its “real names” policy keeps its users safe, a new report reveals that Facebook is the least safe place for women online. And things are turning more explosive, as stories emerge that Facebook has been changing its users’ names without their consent — and the company isn’t allowing them to remove their real names from their accounts. Meanwhile, a furious LGBT coalition has rallied around the safety threats posed to its communities by the policy. Though, it was unsuccessful in blocking the company from marching in America’s largest gay pride parade.
… The Safety Net Project (at the National Network to End Domestic Violence, NNEDV) recently released a report based on results from victim service providers called A Glimpse From the Field: How Abusers Are Misusing Technology.
The report found that nearly all (99 percent) the responding programs reported that Facebook is the most misused social media platform by abusers.
… When reached for comment about the How Abusers Are Misusing Technology report, a Facebook spokesperson referred us to this Facebook post explaining how the company’s “authentic name” policy “creates a safer community for everyone.”
@MissLoreleiLee @courtneytrouble @violetblue my childhood abuser found me on fb, 2 months ago my fb was suspended as I won't use real name
— m a g g i e (@angrymaggie) June 26, 2015
… However, Facebook didn’t have anything to say to us about reports that the company is changing its users’ names without their consent.

You’re looking at a completely new TinyNibbles! New design, evolved style, refined topics, faster everything, mobile prettiness, and better security (with a few more added security features wrapping up as I write this). As much as I hated not posting here for a week, now you know what’s been keeping me so busy. Working on this site is where I’ve been day and night (and several all-nighters). It’s not that anything was a particular problem, but that I don’t have the cash to hire help, and this website is entering its 15th year. That’s hundreds of articles, thousands of posts, and countless feels; it’s a lot to re-organize.
I’m really happy with the results. When I started this website I was hand-coding pages, everything was tables, and I kept a ‘journal’ then… Because commercial blogging software wasn’t available for websites yet.
This website has been refined into what you see now: A dedicated resource for sex culture and information, and an outlet with which to view and discover art, sex-positive erotic entertainment — as well as a safe place for elements of life those in power would readily see censored, sidelined, and relegated to the discriminatory corners of the internet.
The new, sleek menu across the top has everything you need for navigation, though there is a dedicated search box on the top right for specifics, such as names, sex acts, that one post you’re trying to find, or the news item you wanted to share. Social sharing buttons are at the bottom of each post.
New sections include That Devil Pornography, Sex Culture, Literate Smut, Ms. Violet Blue, and Accurate Sex Information.
Speaking of erotica excitingness, today also happens to be the day that our newest Digita Pub erotica collection is available for sale! Please click on over and say hi to the first book by Alison Tyler I’m honored to publish — Bent Over His Desk: Hot Office Kink ($4.49 on Kindle; $4.29 direct on DigitaPub.com).
It’s a superb anthology, and has a different curation style that I think you’ll really like; Tyler adds a voice to Digita Pub that makes my indie-pub catalog into something greater than I’d ever hoped. That Bent comes out right now makes today a very celebratory day for my two biggest labors of love, TinyNibbles and Digita Pub. I hope you enjoy both!
I plan to add more features to TinyNibbles now that I’m fully upgraded in every department. I can’t wait! I’m going to launch a Patreon soon to help offset the costs of everything here, and so I can add more (I hope to pull enough in to bring back the podcast). I had to sideline valuable freelance gigs to get this move done, and it had to be done ASAP, because Google’s algo changes were (are) really hurting me. I’m actually not done fixing everything here. But, if you have suggestions for anything you’d like to see me add (Disqus? Discussion forum? Newsletter?), let me know. Also let me know if you find any 404s that I can fix :)
Thank you for sticking with me. Here’s to another 15 years of fighting the sex-positive, inclusive, indie fight.

Would you flirt with an A.I. (artificial intelligence) companion? Would you try out a dirty talking chatbot? I would. Apparently the author of Love and Sex with Robots wants to make people like me happy, because David Levy (in partnership with Paul Andrews of House of Erotica) has launched Erotic Chatbots Ltd. — and they now have a fundraising page.
Our flirty chatbots are designed for people who enjoy amorous conversations without any overtly sexual content. We believe that the flirty style will also appeal to shy people and to those who would be embarrassed by a more adult style of conversation. The adult style is designed for users who prefer to chat dirty.
If this sounds like the film Her, then you’re getting the picture. While these chatbots won’t be anywhere near that level of omnipresence or awareness, it’s highly likely that if Erotic Chatbots succeeds with their ideas, achieving Her will eventually be a matter of development and adoption. Despite all the dystopian sci-fi I consume, which tells me this is only going to end with the machines enslaving us, I can’t wait for my potty-mouthed artificial companions.
Last week, Erotic Chatbots Ltd. launched its Indiegogo campaign to raise development money, and the perks are pretty sweet (though they need a better video). They’re going to have two offerings for the erotic chatbot lines, Flirty Chatbots and Sexy Chatbots.
Each of our chatbots will have the personality of an entertaining, interesting and amorous partner, who remembers its past conversations with you, learning more and more about you as time goes on.
(…) Our chatbots will be driven by our own Artificial Intelligence software. They will be able to converse on a huge variety of subjects, and their conversation will exhibit several humanlike characteristics. The primary purpose of our chatbots is to entertain, which they will do by providing an engaging conversational capability, but they can also help you to practice and improve your own flirting and erotic chat skills.
Our chatbots are being developed by a team which has twice won the prestigious Loebner Prize contest for human-computer conversation.
The page explains that the bots will come in standard gender binary flavors (female and male), with a heterosexual focus. Their plan is to later expand into lesbian and gay versions, which is great, though I’m wondering if that means bisexuality is already in there somewhere. Let’s hope so. I also hope that since the entire product has shed the construct of bodies, they’ll also eventually shed the antiquated notion of binary gender and expand to embrace the gender spectrum.
But here’s one of the really cool parts:
We are also creating a limited edition of personalized chatbots, each of which is designed and programmed to know about and be affectionate with a particular person. That person can be you, or anyone to whom you decide to gift one of these personalized chatbots.
They will be programmed with information acquired from a “personalizing questionnaire” which you will receive shortly before we are ready to deliver your chatbot(s). The questionnaire will ask about the user’s likes and dislikes, their interests, and various other aspects of their lives. Whatever answers you give when you return the questionnaire(s) to us will make a chatbot more knowledgeable about its user. Your chatbot can therefore start its “life” knowing quite a lot about its user, and what it knows will often be worked into its conversations. That same knowledge will also make the chatbot more interested in its user, and make the user’s personal characteristics more appealing to the chatbot’s persona.
I really hope to see this happen. It’s not the first erotic chatbot venture, but it’s the best. Until now, erotic chatbots haven’t exactly been used for good. In 2013, Security research firm Cloudmark documented the rise of a flirty bot called Text Girlie (covered a year later on BBC). After obtaining a victim’s name and telephone number from their Facebook profile, TextGirlie would send the victim a personalized message asking them to continue the conversation on Skype or Yahoo Messenger. A few coquettish exchanges later, and the victim would be asked to click on a link to an adult dating/cam site. According to Cloudmark, Text Girlie failed the Turing test.
I struggled to rewrite A.L.I.C.E. until 2008 (having started work on her in 2004), to make her sex-positive and sexual, but something like this requires time and resources. Either way, I’m really excited to see what ends up coming out of the mad science labs at Erotic Chatbots, Ltd.

Thanks to Jiz Lee for mentioning this on Twitter: It looks like Kink shot its first glorious scene with a BBW performer — none other than friend and award-winning adult performer, April Flores!
The shoot is a treatment of David Lynch’s iconic Blue Velvet scene where Dennis Hopper menaces Isabella Rossellini while huffing through a gas mask, and it looks compelling. In Baby Wants to Fuck, Flores joins forces with Mistress Mona Wales to turn the tables on “Frank Booth” and they top the living daylights out of lucky Will Havoc. Kink’s set and atmosphere for the shoot lends it a “Black Lodge” (the “Red Room”) vibe that really works. The commenters are loving it, with at least one female viewer praising the sexy scene. Another commenter adds, “Plz more BBW on Divine Bitches!”
Here is Kink’s scene description for the scene, Baby Wants To Fuck:
Divine Bitches is proud to introduce 2x AVN BBW performer of the year, April Flores! She shines as the ULTIMATE DIVINE goddess alongside Mistress Mona Wales. In this surrealist femdom porn flick, every curve and every inch of her creamy white flesh is worshipped. (…) Goddess April Flores is the embodiment of what every Divine Bitch strives to be. She is the archetype. Will Havoc begs to be penetrated by both goddesses at the same time until he sprays his load all over Goddess April’s round belly and licks her clean!
Hope you enjoy this pornographic femdom homage to David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. Soundtrack sung and recorded by resident Divine Bitch, Mistress Mona Wales.

This isn’t a sex-related post, but it does fit here in the same vein as the Kink Your Kindle posts I do every few months. I was chatting on Twitter with someone in my ongoing quest to find new horror and crime books to read, and they suggested I make a list of what I’ve read recently. You see, I’m really into reading horror. Below are probably all of the horror Kindle books I’ve read in the past six months (though I’ve read some actual paper books too like San Francisco Noir, which is pretty good).
I didn’t write reviews for these, I just provided a one-line snap judgment for each, and added a ‘LE SUCK to ZOMFG’ rating system of sorts. You’ll need to click through to read plot descriptions, but many are zombie, some are serial killers, and most are paranormal/sci-fi in some way or another. What I like isn’t going to be what you like, of course. But, I practically live off a steady diet of other people’s reading lists because discovery is such a challenge.
If you like this sort of thing (horror and crime novels), I hope my list has something for you. These are in order of most recently read.

Chinese photographer WANIMAL is causing a stir right now in Chinese papers (and a bit in the UK and US) for a couple of art nudes he took in the Forbidden City palace in Bejiing, China. The photos are lovely, though erotic, and the Palace Museum is not happy about it. In a statement issued on Monday, the Museum said that such behavior should be “condemned by society” and “violates the public order and social morals.”
China’s Global Times writes,
According to the museum, security camera footage shows that at 8:30 am on May 17, four visitors ran ahead of other visitors into the museum. Among them was a woman wearing long grey clothing.
At 8:50, staff at the museum discovered the group taking inappropriate photos at The Hall of Supreme Harmony (taihe dian) during a patrol and stopped them.
Based on previous posts on Wang’s Sina Weibo, he began scouting the museum as early as May 13. The museum denied that it had any knowledge of the shoot beforehand.
In an interview with guancha.com on Thursday, Wang said that taking photos at tourist attractions “is not something new” for him and that he feels his behavior hasn’t affected anyone. He added that if people wish to take offense at his work then so be it.
Wang is a graduate from the Central Academy of Drama and received further education in the US. In addition to the recent controversial nude photos in the Forbidden City, he has also photographed nude models in the streets of Hong Kong and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
He should put the Palace’s statement in his bio under “accomplishments.” He’s a hell of an artist — do hop over to WANIMAL’s Tumblr and feast on miles of gorgeous art nudes brimming with skin, tattoos, and highly condemnable behavior.

Four Chambers is one of my favorite erotic art groups, and their video work continues to amaze, arouse and make you generally want to celebrate the power of bold art and artists. flux : tease is their brand-new work, a compelling four-minute video that has a riveting continuous shot in the beginning, then artfully takes us through a domination scene starring Joey Minx and Nenetl Avril, framed by artful (and emotional, narrative, tasteful) editing, perfect timing, and some really hot set-to-music action.

Carlo Mollino (1905-1973) was an architect, designer, photographer and writer, not to mention a race-car driver and a pilot. His buildings include the Royal Theatre in Turin, and his furniture, like his photography, is ever more valuable. In 2005, a Mollino table sold for $3.8 million, setting a world record for twentieth-century decorative art.
Upon his death, it was discovered that he had a vast, stunning body of work in Polaroids spanning 1962-1973.
DesignBoom tells us that these were, “the private photographic work he kept which included over 1,000 polaroids portraying beauties of Turin’s nightlife in the nude in mise-en-scène settings. These photographs were part of the preparation of his “house for the warrior’s rest,” known as Casa Mollino, a villa in Turin, situated along the River Po.”
Mollino, said to be one of Italy’s most influential mid-20th century designers, wanted to model his death on those of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, whose souls were taken by boat to a sumptuous city, where they enjoyed opulent afterlives. Casa Mollino was a house he created for his afterlife, “inspired by the project of the construction of the Egyptian pyramid which is the house for the perpetuity of the pharaohs.”

Shine Louise Houston, the Director and Producer at Pink and White Productions, is definitely one of my personal heroes (and a friend, though we haven’t seen each other in like a million years). One of my all-time favorite quotes in our contemporary sex revolution came when Houston said, “There is power in creating images, and for a woman of color and a queer to take that power. I don’t find it exploitative; I think it’s necessary.”
I’ve had the privilege over the years to be able to support Houston’s projects, sometimes with really hot exclusives, and I’m ridiculously excited to find out that Houston is working on a new film: SNAPSHOT. Announced Monday, the crowdfunding just began here on Indiegogo, and I strongly recommend throwing even just $5 in the kitty.
I’m Shine Louise Houston, and I’ve been creating erotic queer cinema through my company Pink & White Productions for almost a decade. My films have screened across the globe, have received numerous awards, and appear frequently in academic work and sexuality textbooks. In my films, I work to create an alternate vision of what’s sexy, one that is more reflective of the queer communities and communities of color that I identify with.
This summer I’m taking a big directorial leap by making my first independently produced feature film, SNAPSHOT. It will be my 5th feature film, but the first that Pink & White will have full control over.
(…) Growing up queer, I was always frustrated with the coming out stories I was hearing and seeing: there were so few queers of color, the representations’ idea of ‘sexy’ wasn’t mine, narratives were formulaic and stereotypical, and the production quality left a lot to be desired. SNAPSHOT is an attempt to provide a different coming out narrative in a tone that reflects some of my most profound filmic influences. It involves two women of color as its main characters. The character whose “coming out” is in focus is in her late 30s — and her coming out has to do more with the intricacies of new desires than with gender.
There’s much more to read on SNAPSHOT’S crowdfunding page, including its timeline and goals. But it’s the personal text from Shine that’s a must-read; it’ll give you goosebumps, make you smile, and if you’re like me, a bit of both while shouting “viva la revolucion!” Also, in San Francisco style, SNAPSHOT is about a murder.
SNAPSHOT is an erotic suspense thriller that draws inspiration from film classics such as Hitchcock’s Rear Window and Antonioni’s Blow Up.
As a queer love story, SNAPSHOT doesn’t shy away from portraying explicit sexuality, which gives context to the characters’ intimacy and exists as a key element of my storytelling. Popular examples of movies that include realistic sex are Shortbus and the lesbian film, Blue is the Warmest Color. My pornographic aesthetics draw heavily from Radley Metzger. Pink & White Productions films show the mechanics of intimate sexuality, and uncensored portrayals of genuine pleasure, which is what our company is best known for.
Donate to SNAPSHOT! Help make it happen! I really want to see this film!

My pals over at Lovehoney are at it again: Their fun and always-delightful Design A Sex Toy competition is back. The winner of each category can win $1,500, with the bonus Judges’ Pick award receiving an extra $3,000 (submit here).
Then, Lovehoney makes and distributes your toy, and shares all the sales royalties with you. Apparently the guy who invented the 2009 winner the Sqwueel has raked in over $150K. That’s not too bad for a bit of extra regular income and adding a cool toy to the ‘verse (and not having to hassle with manufacturing, trademark and copyright, legal, shipping, being treated like a fucking criminal by Facebook and Instagram when you try to promote your legitimate business, getting kicked off Kickstarter and then having to make it your whole damn life on Indiegogo).
Here’s Lovehoney’s spiel:
Lovehoney has assembled a panel of expert judges, including the ‘Philippe Starck of sex toys’ – Lelo and Tickler Founder Eric Kalén, Lovehoney Operations Manager Paul Jaques, Lovehoney Product Director Bonny Hall and Lovehoney Online Trading Manager Alice Little.
There are three categories to enter: Sex Toys for Men, Sex Toys for Women and Sex Toys for Couples. The winner of each category will win $1,500 and the Judges’ Pick will receive an extra $3,000 (…)
The Lovehoney team will consider all designs submitted to them, from high tech computer-generated designs to 3D models, and even a scribble on a Post-It note. What are you waiting for?
PS – Lovehoney made me this cute discount page.

This edition of Kink Your Kindle features some absolute showstoppers in the world of new erotic fiction — and the fiction genre, period. I’m not sure what changed in the past few months, but something certainly has in the world of erotica. The newest crop of hot, lit smut is deep, and I highly recommend each and every one of them. Best of all, most of these are indies, and self-published works, so we’re supporting the writers directly! YAY!
With the exception of any nonfiction titles, every selection in this post contains explicit sex, ranging from romantic trysts with hardcore sex to character-driven, thoughtful – but very nasty – porn. Expect unusual and rich stories, characters with complexity, riveting realistic sex, and skilled storytelling.
Searching for erotic Kindle books is a nightmare of poorly written (auto generated? plagiarized?) free books, most exploiting dated (and often offensive) stereotypes that are a turn-off. But they all rank high on Amazon’s search, page after page – making it impossible to find quality erotic titles. I hope that Kink Your Kindle helps to hack a path through the rip-offs and Kindle spammers, and that through this you discover new authors you grow to love.
NEW FROM ME
“What you need to know about Filthy Housewives is that it offers literary pornography at its finest. What’s masterful about this collection is the sheer erotic creativity it displays. Every single story might start off sounding like something you’ve read someplace, some time, but no—Filthy Housewives offers seven arousing, inventive sexual fantasies, and each one will provide you with at least one moment, one image or scent, that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading.” (Amazon review)
“Anyone thinking Mad Men? I know I am. And yet, when you open Bisexual Husbands, and begin your journey, it’s nothing like anything you’ve ever read before. Between the covers are seven hot and kinky tales of husbands gone wild – pushed and prodded into it by their wild and kinky wives. Before they realize what’s going on, they’re caught up in something they never knew they wanted. In between stories, cleanse your palette with bits and bites from Violet herself – tips on how to kink up your bar, or the proper way to lube up. All tips feel like they should be published in Good Housekeeping, but it keeps with the feel of the collection. Old fashioned on the outside, but thoroughly modern and shiny new on the inside.” (Amazon review)

Meet indie erotica’s perfect couple: Filthy Housewives and Bisexual Husbands.
After discovering the incredible body of work belonging to Australian photographer Justin Fox late Friday night, and all the stunning, dreamy nude editorials, I was hooked. Then I found the gallery dedicated to his photography cohort and cat companion Mia, and all her work in photo sets and videos with beautiful babes of all kinds, and realized I was hooked.
Like many readers here, I’ve loved spotting cats in porn, and especially cherish the Indifferent Cats In Amateur Porn Tumblr. But Mia is the opposite of indifferent, and when you see her mimicking the poses of Fox’s all-natural glamour nudes, you know she’s really digging her impromptu modeling gigs.
We can tell how much the models love working with this feline pinup superstar, but Mia, your fan base just got bigger!

The father of a questioning young trans person called the police on the clinic’s founder – and she has been held by police and charged with “contributing to the delinquency of a minor”.
My name is Julianna Fialkowski.
Two months ago, I began a transgender community and support group in the barren and unforgiving climate of small town Lynchburg, VA.
In the process of helping persons of all ages to explore their identities in a safe space with like minded sponsors and adults, I have come to be personally attacked by the hateful parent of an attending minor.
Within just eleven days of meeting this child, their father has brought police to disrupt my life, taking out his frustration and fear on me.
Ms Fialkowski was also forced to endure a strip-search “exposing myself and my breasts before four male deputies.” The police also threatened to send her to a male jail facility.

According to Julianna Fialkowski, 25, she found out about the unnamed, 17-year-old transmale after a cry for help went out on the social media site Facebook late last month. The youth claimed that he was self harming- adding that he was suicidal.
(…) Fialkowski found the youth’s house through an internet search, and accompanied by a prayer chaplain from a local trans support group, went to the home to offer their assistance. After a dispute between the youth and his parents, the youth left the house, indicating to that his father had kicked him out and that he had permission to leave.
Fialiowski said that she and the prayer chaplain, Lindy Ramsey, took the youth to Ramsey’s home where he was offered a place to stay temporarily, an offer the pair claimed they had made the youth’s parents aware of.
(…) However, police returned later with a warrant for her arrest charging her with contributing to the delinquency of a minor – a Class 1 misdemeanor.
She turned herself into the Lynchburg Police department later that night and said that she was misgendered by the magistrate who along with police and jail officials addressed her as “Sir” and “Mr. Fialkowski” throughout the process.
